This was no accident either as she had previously undergone in vitro fertilization.
Wow, I'm only 63 and I know I don't want to raise any more kids.

Doctors should be ethically bound not to do this kind of shit.

That is too appalling to contemplate....it's just WRONG

Seriously, I heard having children past the age of 45 can lead to all kind of developmental problems in the kids.

she is way past the age of menopause so she had to use a donor egg as well as sperm. aside from the dangers inherent in pregnancy and childbirth at that age, it is not particularly risky for developmental problems

well I don't really have too much of a problem with it so long as she can actually look after the child
Though if I was in her shoes I would adopt if I really wanted kids at that age (but then again maybe she wants childbirth?)

It's still gross to think about.

i think she's a little bit too old to have that kind of accidents :)
but yes, i do find it really wrong on many levels. its unhealthy for the child, the mother and i wouldn't want to be raised by someone who is 67 years older than me. so i would never do it (i also don't think i'd want children on a younger age, for other reasons)
