Yeah i wanted to know from all of you politcally correct and those right wing bastards how on earth do you get your own religion? I got mine but im sure if i went out to get tax exemption they'd lock me up for tax evasion or something. I posted this in the thread aboot scientologists but it mysterously disappeared...:confused: yeah like ALL non believers. Anyway can anyone help?

I don't know, perhaps Google on religions and starting your own?

www.ulc.org is a nondenominational, interfaith organization that legally ordains anyone as a minister so they may perform marriages, start their own churches (you can file for recognition and tax exemption if you have enough members), etc. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, though.

I wanna know if i could just make up my own religion. Just like the scientologists. But more specifically can i get it officially recognised by the government and all. I figure if scientologists can do it so can i. And ha ha but im not canadian im australian.

Worship me and I will grant you any title, indulgence, license and/or tax-exempt status you wsh. Then, when your governnment comes to collect its taxes, just tell them that Big Jim P said you didn't have to pay. evil grin

Well, to have evidence of your claim to have founded a church you usually need to demonstrate that you are something of a religous authority. The most straight-forward way would be to get a PhD in Divinity. Another way would be to convince several people to believe as you believe and start donating money to free you from other obligations enabling you to teach your beliefs. Then when you establish the non-profit company to report that income you simply file as a church.
