It is 5 am on the US East Coast, 10am in London, and I'm doing it again this year. My girlfriend's sick, so I can't spend the day with her, so you're all stuck with me.

It is now midnight January 1, 2007 on Christmas Island, Kiribati.

Another update at 5:15 EST.

Ah!

I think I will keep you company today, Maineiacs.

Well, untill I go out to eat tonight at 6.

.. and when I'm getting beers out of the fridge..

But yes.

I promise to be here with you, and possibly--no, not possibly, I will be here wasted and wearing a silly hat.

So, we've had some ironic twists to the end of this year, eh? Two former leaders of countries currently at war both died in the same week.

Anyway, I've got a huge Colbert Report archive and plan on watching it the whole day. I'm staying up till midnight tonight...and it's only 3:32 A.M. And I've been up for close to twelve hours already.

Starbucks overcharges out the ass and lies with its sizes to try and make them seem larger than they really are. I mean, "Tall, Grande, Venti"? Why not just call them what they are: puny, somewhat okay, and the size that should be small?

The tall is 12 oz, the grande 16 oz, and the venti 20 oz.

You can see why I would be disappointed, especially since even a standard cup of regular old coffee costs $1.45, for the tall size. Don't even start mentioning expressos, cappacinos, or my atrocious spelling.

I don't like it at all. It's why I turn down invitations to parties. If someone were to spike the punch or something...I'd be lucky to survive the night. And I am completely honest here. My tolorance for alcohol is literally, truly nil.

Because I don't like social gatherings anyway. I'm uncomfortable with them. I prefer tiny gatherings, and even then unless I'm close to the people I don't like them. So even if I weren't killable with a drink I'd still turn the invitations down.

cameroi love international buffett. in remaining 19 hours and 45 minuets will try to take one small bite of each and every edible thing.

cameroi has never met a part of planet earth that didn't have something yummi to share with the rest of us (other then places undergoing famine, but even these, perhapse especialy these, seem to possess the most wonderful recipies, even if, for the moment they may lack the means of doing anything about them).

for beverages, well i'm also one with no taste for endulging in neurotropic substances myself, and indeed, don't mind watching, from a safe distance, those who do, behave in ammusing ways that would probably embarrass them otherwise, or, to each their own.

as someone else mentioned, my amusement and gratification are derived from things that generaly bennifit from, if not outright require, a certain degree of clear thought.

so martinelli's grape cider is a good celibrative. when the moment strikes. untill then, lapsong suchong, darjeling, and various permutions of mochachinos, sound good.

as for the idiot box. the year 2k they did a good thing on there. about the only time i can think of they did. and perhapse the six years of suffering since, well i'm cautious, shall we say, of being too exuberantly optomystic. though calmly and relatively undemostratively it is my nature to remain so.

every year is one to look forward and hope for what can be. whatever, however horribly we may have done contrarily in the past.

and a day will dawn, if not this immediate comming year or the next, but indeed, perhapse even within my own life time, when the rivers run clear, the air is not poisened, and people have seen through and are no longer emotionaly attatched to the causes and motivations that enable suffering and harm.

so a health and a prayr, both safety and gratification for one and all.

and especialy wierdness. gratifying and harmless and really unexpected wierdness.

nemiste
