i work a pizza place around where i live, and for my age and my status in school, its fine for right now. only... the people around me arent the brightest bunch of people ill meet. ever.

some of my coworkers were talking today about how saddam was executed. two of them were talking about - get this - how they thought saddam was executed in the US (they realized where later, but cmon...) and, for the piece de resistance, one of my coworkers confessed that she didnt know who saddam hussein was until - wait for it... - we started talking about him at work. the day after he was executed and every local news station was blabbing about it. the kicker?

shes a college student... yeesh.

there's your problem right there. she's probably too poor to afford a TV, or even a newspaper subscription. and with her attention focused totally on her studies and work...

try ask her if she knows that there is a conflict in Iraq?

You folks would honestly be suprised at the people who work in the food industry.

I think you might also be suprised at some of the people who get into college.

Hell, I think we should all be suprised at some people who survive childhood.

Not trying to generalise though I will probably end up sounding like/doing that, nearly all the yanks I know who go to my uni here in Australia (and there are a lot) are rich and spoilt. Drinking alcohol is indeed a traditional here in Australia for all ages, but the amount of drinking that American chicks do (and every night) is just crazy. Not surprising they appear so stupid.

youd have to be wasted every day and be in line for a liver transplant to not know who saddam is that way...
