...apart from their religion of course.
Most of them are big on a politicised, selective interpretation of their religion

There is the fortunate thing that theres less muslim extremists, who also have less power and influence. Plus most arent under the delusion that they're anyting other than a pack of wankers....

Shit, I should have posted sources. Excuse me while I gather them.
What's the difference between left wingers and Muslim extremists?
Left wingers aren't inspired to hate America and Christians through religion. It just comes naturally for them.
This thread is just as trollish as the first.

What's the difference between left wing and right wing trolls?
Other than their name and rhetoric, nothing.
Well, a big similarity between teh two is that people compare them to groups absolutely nothing like them.

According to your standard, yes. Although, being literate usually implies that you read something and comprehend what it meant so that you don't say something really stupid in reply to it.;)

People generalize all the time without complaint, it is not nescicerally a bad thing. When someone says, all fundamentalists are crazy, that is a generalization and yet everyone accepts it.

I see; it's only a bad generalization when you're the one it paints. When you have the brush in your hand, it's OK.

n.
1. A usually religious movement or point of view characterized by a return to fundamental principles, by rigid adherence to those principles, and often by intolerance of other views and opposition to secularism.
So, yeah. If you are not a fundamentalist of whatever type, you'd be pretty weird not to think that fundamentalism is crazy.

Not necessarily. In the early days of Christianity literate often meant nothing more than having the time to sit down and copy symbols that you didn't understand and could not read.
There is a handwriting sample from the Christian scribe of one village or another (can't remember the name offhand) where he was practicing his notary signature over and over again. It said something to the effect of (with a made up name that I can't remember for real):
I am Bob Jones the scribe of this village and I attest that this is true.
I am Bob Jones the scribe of this village and I attest that this is true.
I am Bob Jones the scribe of this village and I attest that this is true.
I am Bob Jones the scribe of attest that this is true.
I am Bob Jones the scribe of attest that this is true.
I am Bob Jones the scribe of attest that this is true.

Yes, he made a mistake and repeated it the rest of the way down the page. He didn't understand what he was writing, he just copied the previous line. He was the scribe and was thought to be literate. And it was his job to write copies of the Bible.

Fundamentalism is not synonymous with "crazy".
The Amish, for example, are fundamentalists, yet they are not considered to be crazy or extremist.
