well.... you know how the 3 hours went....

"ok hun, im gonna go into my study and decide this iraq thing"

oops need some coffee, runs to the kitchen and grabs a big mugfull, thinks for a minute, adds some milk and sugar

goes to office. sits down. takes papers out of his briefcase. arranges them neatly on the desktop. thinks about it. arranges them differently.

gets a pen out of the drawer, thinks about it, grabs a pencil instead. grabs two more in case the lead breaks. sharpens them all in the nifty electric pencil sharpener. wow cool. gets 6 more pencils and sharpens them. ooooo sharp! arranges nice sharp pencils on the desk. thinks about it. rearranges the desktop.

takes out a clean crisp legal pad. picks up pencil and writes "MY IRAQ PLAN" at the top. breaks lead, sharpens pencil. sharpens the rest of the pencils so they will all be the same length.

turns on the computer and googles "syria" just so he doesnt mistake its location again. gets results for that movie "syriana" from last year. puts it on his netflix list. thinks about it. adds oceans 11 and 12.

settles down to write. "my fellow americans". breathes out. now what? "i am the president" too obvious? maybe "as president i have to decide our new iraq policy" hmmm. i am the decider but NEW implies that there was something wrong with the old one... what to say what to say?

time for a quick snack. calls the kitchen and asks for a turkey sandwich and chips. paces the office while waiting for them to arrive. arranges the desktop for the plate. sandwich comes...mmmmm gooooood. turns on the tv. 0000 "adam's rib is on tcm, i love that movie" watches it to the end.

oops he was supposed to be working. scribbles something down about being a uniter, bringing democracy to the middle east, something about nukes in iran... well thats enough for one day.

Yeah, I know, 3 hours doesn't sound like much. But you have to realize that he is "Burdened by low approval ratings," which makes the work ten times more difficult. Also he is "under mounting pressure," which is an actual qualification for medical leave of absence and yet STILL he works. He works like a donkey. For us. For US. You ungrateful wretch. You make me sick.
