Trinity Blood is, IMHO, a very interesting show. I don't know about you, but, IMO, it seems to need at least some understanding of the subject material to get all the little nuances. Or do you not like it because of all the biblical and Roman Cathlic references?

You never heard of Ranma and Dirty Pair?!?
Ranma 1/2: A martial arts student and his father are cursed when they practice at an ancient training ground. now when the boy is dowsed with cold water, he turns into a girl and hot water restores him.
Can you imagine what his promised wife will think? that is, if they both knew about the marriage arraingement...
Dirty Pair: Kei and Yuri are WWWA's (World Work Welfare Association) top trouble consultants. the Lovely Angels. however, due to their rather... heavy handed tactics (they blew up their First Planet in the first half of season 1.) they are saddled with a name that strikes fear in the hearts of all, guilty and innocent alike... the Dirty Pair.

So far, everyone has failed to mention really good anime, besides Grave of Fireflies.
- Fushigi Yuugi
- Ayashi no Ceres
- Shojo Kakumei Utena
- Angel Sanctuary
- Ouran High Host Club
- FAKE
I would say Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's the closest I've seen in anime (or popular culture at all for that matter) of something intellectual. Admittedly, it has a lot of flaws, but it's the only time I've Kierkagaard referenced in an anime. I also liked Elfen Lied and think it might also qualify as one of the better series.

If you like Ryvius, then check out Stellvia of the Universe.
Already did. I liked it quite a lot too, just doesnt consider it as good as Ryvius.
What I liked about Stellvia is that it had two distinct archs. First, the character development and daily life of the students, and second the Second Wave deal (if that was its name, its been a few years since I saw it).
They should´ve had made a second season, like they did to Crest of the Stars (Seikai no Monshou)

Best anime ever?
Got to be AKIRA. Nothing beats that - it's just like from a different world (like FFVII for rpg's)
However, the following are neat to:
1. NGE
2. X (this comes pretty close to AKIRA in the mood it carries, and it's the only CLAMP anime/manga i like)
3. Perfect Blue
4. Jin-Roh
xyz. propably some more I forgot.
Here are the ones i forgot:
Gundam Wing
I also loved Digimon when i was younger.
Recently, i saw one on TV called "Soul Taker" - i heard of it before, but thought it wasn't worth paying any attention to it. Then, i zapped into it, and i was amazed. But anyway, it won't appear on my list.
And, just for passing time:

The best anime ever is Cowboy Bebop because it’s the only anime that I’ve ever witnessed come even close to appealing to those who normally profess to hate the stuff.
The whole Ghost in the Shell franchise is good as well.
Every other anime I’ve seen, including some that I’ll admit I really liked such as Full Metal Alchemist, become intellectually insulting at one point or another, some more often than others.
