Nudism
What do you think of it? Are there any nudists here? I am thinking about joining a nudist club or something. I like the feeling of being able to be nude all the time. Do you think its socially acceptable to do such a thing?

There's several nude beaches where I live. Also, there's no public nudity laws in my city. You can be nekked as long as you aren't doing anything obscene (and that's where the law gets fuzzy). There's naked bike races annually in my city as well.
I used to never wear clothes when I was at home, but then I moved in with a roommate. At my DZ we try to do a naked skydive once a year. Skydiving naked is fantastic.

I'm for nudism because afterall it's your body and you should be able to do whatever you wan't with it as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. It doesn't hurt anyone to see you nude.
It probably is illegal here, but it'd only be warm enough to go naked for one or two days a year. Outside at least.

Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable being nude all the time. Even in my own home, I generally at least wear underwear. And my fiance won't even sit around the house like that.
But, if you enjoy it, go for it. I don't think it's "weird" or "nasty" or anything like that to be nude or to enjoy being nude. I think quite a few of the "public indecency" laws are garbage. There is nothing indecent about being nude. If you were nude and having sex in public, I could see a problem, but the only issues I would have with public nudity would be sanitary issues. I wouldn't, for instance, want nude people cooking and bringing me my food.
Of course, even the public indecency laws we already have are pretty silly. Why are male nipples just fine, while female nipples are indecent? Why is it ok to show your entire rear end in a thong, but it's somehow indecent if you don't have a bit of floss up your butt? Why is it that I could wear a bikini that was more revealing than any of my regular undergarments, but if I walk around in those, it's indecent?

While I am not in the habit of running around in the nude, that is partly because the sight of me in such a state of dress would cause even more people to run away screaming at sight of me than normally, and I would get arrested for causing a disturbance or something. That and it's illegal, and too cold in New England.
I am fine with other people walking around naked of course, as long as they clean up should they leave any, uh, germs in places they have sat or walked, and don't try to leech off my tax money if they get a piece of glass in their foot and go wait in a hospital to die. There are actually a lot of disadvantages to public nudity; I don't mind it, but I consider it very stupid in a place like this. People who want to be naked within the privacy of their own home are free to do so of course.

As for the opening post:
I can think of absolutely no valid reason why one would not be allowed to do things that all involved parties are consenting in, such as joining a nudist group.
None of you mind being naked, none of you mind seeing other people naked, nobody loses, right?
(Now joining a nudist extremist group that planned to destroy all the clothes factories in the world so that everyone would have to be a nudist, that I can find reasons against ;) )
I'll say it's not for me, I was mind-controlled enough by current society to believe in the whole "decency" part about wearing-clothing-in-public.
Those few times I left the bathroom naked after a shower (I sometimes forget to take fresh clothes with me... dumb me) I felt really uncomfortable, even if my room is next to the bathroom.
I also don't think I'd like to see people walking around naked in so-called "public space".
If it makes you happy (and doesn't make other people unhappy, important part!), by all means, walk around however you like!
(My opinion on things like this in general is that as long as you don't physically/directly bother anyone with it, do as you wish. People that rant "nudity is indecent!/against X's will/immoral/not-right/etc. Ban all nudist resorts" without ever having trouble with nudists should, in my humble opinion, find better things to do.)
Then of course, there is the practical aspect of wearing clothes...
I don't think humanity would have been as succesfull as it has if we hadn't "invented" clothes...
Not that that's a reason to force everyone into clothes of course. Just saying that they at least have their uses besides covering up the body.

I thought about it, but I think it's largely out of laziness. the body image stuff is somewhat nice, though if we're going to talk about accepting a natural human body as beautiful, then we should couple it with natural living, not just accepting whatever gross side effects of fast-food and poor lifestyle choices. a full natural lifestyle I highly approve of - living off the grid, increased self-sufficiency and ecological sustainability, and rejecting social constraints like clothing...that's cool - nude beaches and shit like that isn't exactly the same thing though.
