I hope it doesn't snow here in CT until at least Tuesday night (because I don't want to have to drive the postal vehicle in the snow).

Snow? We've got plenty of it, and supposedly another foot or so(For the Denver area, though for where I am it probably means closer to two or three) on the way in the next few days. :D

Glad to see this thread - for it finally started snowing this morning. And then it rained. And now it's snowing again.

Aside from snow setting in so late - it's way too warm around here for this late in the year.

But I'm really glad it snowed and snows. I like snow. And when there's snow on everything, it's not as dark and gray anymore.

So, hooray for snow!!!

Well, here in Midwestern Minnesota, we have exactly 0 inches of snow. This is the first time since 1957, apparently, that this has happened.

It feels... wierd. I've seen "warm" winters in Minnesota, but nothing like this. I hate the snow, but goddammit I'd be happy if we got some. At least then I would have a reason to bitch out Southerners for being "wussies!" for complaining about 1 inch of snow. :p

I may brave the streets after the news man says "very dangerous" but most of the other people around here won't, so the gas station is closed, the grocery store is closed, the library is closed, the church is closed, the mall is closed, the Wal*mart closes (if I were going to go there I couldn't).....everything is closed.

Well, make the best of it: Build a snow ramp, a snow family, an igloo, frolic in the frozen wilderness (your backyard), build a catapult and chuck huge amounts of white delight at your neighbors' house, have a snowfight with your kids, roleplay that you're on an away mission on a Class P planet.

I mean, honestly, there are a lot of things you could do if you think about it. Besides, there's nothing better for kids than to get some exercise in the snow. The air should be cleaner, too.

And when you're all done and exhausted, sit down with your kids and enjoy a hot chocolate and watch some Star Trek or something.

Here in Denver we actually escaped having snow last weekend, the first time since the Blizzard Before Christmas. And the temperature's gone up into the 40s and 50s (that's between about 4 and 13 for those of you of the Celsius persuasion). "Meltdown" has real meaning here now. A lot of the snow in front of my house and on the south side has gone, melting into the thirsty ground. Out back there's still a foot-deep (30 cm) blanket of snow. They're forecasting more snow for this weekend, however.

Hey as long as you do not start watching Pat Robertson I will try and find some one to ship you some of ours. We had blizzards all weekend and so far some snow fall everyday since and they tell us to expect snow for the next 7 days in small amounts at least.
