I watched the above DVD tonight and found it very funny on a par with Napolean (blownapart) Dynamite. It has some very funny scenes. If you have not rented this one yet you better. There is a liberal use of the f-word.

Eh it doesn't look like my kind of movie. If it's like Napoleon then I'm def. not going to rent it.

I'm suprised that's all you got from it. To me, although it is comedic in some scenes, it makes an important statement about both family and the human condition. I, personally, would never see Napoleon Dynamite, but Little Miss Sunshine is among my favourite movies.

I loved Little Miss Sunshine and felt it was a great parody of the American family, but I felt that Napolean Dynamite was also.

Well I didn't post all of my thought about the movie and I would agree with you on that it has some important and accurate statements about life in America. Can't help it, but I loved Napoleon D.

I thought that Napoleon Dynamite was an hour and a half of uber crap.

I am pretty movie picky though, I just didn't see the arc of plot that I like, and the acting was terrible, and I came away from the movie feeling like an idiot for wasting my time watching it.........I seriously don't get the appeal.

Little Miss Sunshine is an example of the reason that I love to go to the film festival, the really great non-Hollywood movie.

I think for me part of the appeal on Napolean D was that it was so un-Hollywood. It was poking fun at Hollywood, movies, movie goers and just about everything in American culture. Yes, the acting was intentionally bad; the plot was perhaps non-existent. It was one very stange little movie, but I loved it.

Differences are good. Wouldn't life be boring if we all thought alike on every issue, if all flowers were red.
