Will we ever be able to solve the environment/oil and resourse depletion and overpopulation problem? It's a question that's been nagging at me for some time now.

Me personally, I'd like to hope so, but......

Nope, we're doomed. Sorry to be the one to break the news to you.

We're circling the drain. But it's going to be one hell of a ride. :)

I already knew that was the most likely, but maybe there's still a chance, if the US and China and India could actually grow beyond oil. But that will likely never happen. The rest of the world wants to but its these three and some other ones that just think of the money.:(

It's technically feasible, but it requires action from those in power, which isn't very forthcoming.

No, there is no hope. Soon, no one will be able to drive cars, the economies will collapse, the earth will plunge into the sun.

I'm pretty pessimistic as well, but it's hard to believe there's a 0% chance. Especially when the effects come (soon) I'm sure leaders would be much more willing.

By then, it will be too late. :(

Not gonna happen. We're all screwed. So everybody who can, get laid.

And again...

Who gives a shit?

There's only one logical solution - nuclear holocaust.

These problems solve themselves, sort of. Resource depletion - as availability goes down, prices will skyrocket, leaving no choice but to use something else. Overpopulation causes famine, which reduces population.

Yeah, I know but was that shit-giving thing really necessary, Gin?

No matter how much everyone wants to hold hands and sing Kum-ba-ya, there will always be one guy sitting off in a corner polishing his AK-47.

If I don't give it, my colon will explode. It's a no-win scenario, much like Iraq.

No matter how much everyone wants to hold hands and sing Kum-ba-ya, there will always be one guy sitting off in a corner polishing his AK-47.

As long as "AK-47" is a euphemism for a sexual organ and not a literal weapon, there should be no problem with that.

There may be resource wars, but we will eventually overcome the problems.

As for overpopulation, the population will probably decline as fast as it rose. By 2200 we could be looking at an Earth of between one and two billion people. :)

we will all ascend to a higher level of existence, where we at last will be at one with the n-dimensional nature of being and collectively assume responsibility for the deplorations of our species. War and hunger will end, all sin will be expunged from the earth and we will all become vegetarian naturists who're very kind to animals.

Convinced? Me neither. So just put your faith in multinational corporations to solve our problems. Peace through obesity.
