Do you prefer Christmas or New Year's? Personally I enjoy New Year's better. I think its a time of fresh starts, change, resolutions. Christmas on the other hand is just an exercise in materialism and bad music. Not to mention "cheer"

Cristmas: You enjoy with your family, get gifts, eat like a pig, has to endure the boredom of your families.

New years: You get drunk and laid, and wake up with someone you dont even know the name, but you´re absolutely sure you´ve nailed her.

Cheers for New Year´s.

I'd think the whole "being Muslim" thing would put a bit of a damper on Christmas...

I imagine, taking into consideration the usual age-group around here that New Years will win out, seeing as its about drinking, not there’s anything wrong with that.

Christmas, at least to me, is about family and charity and god damn it if the season doesn't get to me. I love carols. I love the decorations. I love the looks on those little kids faces at the mall as they wait in line for Santa. It's a holiday for the kids, and I guess you either have to have some of your own or be an empathetic bastard like myself to really appreciate that.

I love Christmas.

I CAN'T DECIDE!

Christmas because of all good tidings and economic strengthening due to the immense volumes of consumer activity, and New Years because of the great mix of explosives and alcohol.

Thing about Christmas: It's lost most of its Christness.

From the pagan trees to the Santa Claus character (the one with the reindeer and the North Pole), not much resembles Christ's birth. Except for the occasional nativity scene.

Christmas lost any real religious connotation long ago.

New Year's. Why? Well, because it's the last chance to get wasted on the passing year, and at the same time, the first chance on the new one, and that is so fucking cool...On a second tought, i'm such a drunktard:(
Funny thing is that I always get kind of sad, depressed and nostalgic on New Year's and end up calling people i haven't talked to for years, LOL. Last year I called an old friend from junior high who i didn't talked for like two years and declared all my feelings for her. Now, try to imagine a guy who drunk everything from beer to vodka saying "I luv youz su much...Yu hazz no izea..."

Soviestan, you'd be surprised how many people actually celebrate X-mas for Christ. To most people, it's a holiday for family, friends, gifts, food, carols, etc. but not Christ. I personally celebrate the Winter Solstice. Great holiday for an atheist, even though it has some religous roots.

I'd have to say Christmas. It's true that if you do your Christmas shopping in the last few weeks the malls are altars of insanity, and the Christmas music they play in them is a continual hymn to Dread Cthulhu, but that's why sensible people do their shopping before the maddened herds of last-minute shoppers descend.

I'm not a fan of materialism, and I don't like carols, but (for me, at least) Christmas is about giving as much as receiving. Getting stuff is nice, but it's equally nice to see people's faces when they receive your gifts.

New Years has never been very important to me, since I don't drink.

Just because I don't believe in Santa doesn't mean I can't enjoy Christmas...

Seriously though, Christmas is just a pagan celebration that early Christians hijacked to spread their religion.

Until last year I was definitely a fan of Christmas - hell, I got free things I wanted at Christmas and I had to put up with my family on both occasions, so Christmas ftw. This year I'm spending New Years with my mates from Uni, so I think New Years wins now.

Christmas lost any real religious connotation long ago.And that's a good thing. Christianity sucks big time. And I hate getting presents.
New Year's is party.
