Turn up the Bing Crosby...
I'll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree
...and skip the "only in my dreams" line.
I leave at the house at 5 am tomorrow, first flights at 8 am, a 10 hour layover in Tokyo (damn the cheap ticket! At least it's a decent airline, and not last yhears last minute and overpriced tic on Northworst. :)), change in Chicago, then Des Moines and "home" to the family.
I'll be jonesing for you guys as I won't likely get my NSG fix for several days.
I 'sepect ya'll to take care of the place!

Hehe, when I flew to Japan I rode in business class! It was a waste of miles, yet it wasn't a waste of miles...

I hate you. I've gone to Japan 17 times, and every single time is 12+ hours stuck in the cheapest economy tickets. Your one of those people I hiss at in line at the airports....

I can assure you it was the first and only time I'll be doing that. Like I said, it cost a lot of miles.

Awesome! Which airline did you take?
ANA from Osaka International (Itami, not Kanasai, if you know) - excellent flight, bad time.
American Airlines from Narita to Chicago - read my new Christmas vacation blog for that adventure (sigged).
America Eagle from Chicago to Des Moines - small aircraft, odd to my ear announcements in Spanish (I been outta Texas way too long!), over an hour late, but otherwise an OK flight.

My brother got this realy cool chainsaw for Christmas... ;)
does your bit of the midwest look as the same as my bit of it?
Probabaly - rolling plains, lots of farms and small towns, nice people? Bare trees and frost burned grass, and temps in the 20s?
The folks live in Grinnell, a small college town, and my little bro lives on a nice bit of farmland.
