try telling this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/jersey/6196481.stm) guy!

of course luck wasn't a causative factor in his fall being broken by a blackberry bush, but the fact of it and the outcome were pretty damn lucky and there's no other word for it!

my sister's going to do a jump there sometime next year too!

Wow, you know you're Canadian when you're happy that they used the CN tower as a reference point for how far from the ground the guy was when his chute failed.

He's not lucky. The Gods of Fate are merely not finished tormenting him yet.

I dunno, I thought it still was, but there was some building planned that would absolutely dwarf it.

you're right, i just looked it up. and yet it doesn't appear on any of the lists of tallest buildings i quickly perused. maybe cuz it isn't technically a sky-scraper or something. i was thinking of the petronus towers in kuala lumpar but apparently they've been overtaken by a sky-scraper in taipei. cn tower still beets that by some 150ft.

Yeah, the CN Tower isn't a "building" it's a "free-standing structure" aka massive phallic symbol/tourist attraction.

the one in taipei, aye. although i notice the sears tower still has the most number of floors despite not actually scraping the highest sky.

No. The Petronas towers are just the tallest office building. (Though if you include antenne height the sears tower is still taller).

The CN tower is taller than either. But there is still an antenna mast in some godforsaken part of the US that is taller still.

Yeah, but that's not free standing, it's got cables supporting it.
