Suparmurat "Turkmenbashi" Niyazov has died today, the modern day's foremost personality cultist who famously renamed bread.

Obviously this is a good thing for Turkmenistan... but I really share in the Turkmen people's sense of fear and confusion.

He was the President of Turkmenistan,he was really eccentric-did stupid things such as naming bread after his mother,wanted a massive pyramid,the sorts.He was a funny guy.Didn't he rename months after family members?

yes, januari was called after himself, and april after his mother iirc
