I'm sure that others already knew this, but this is the first I've heard about it at any rate.

Lembit Opik MP not only has left his fiancee weathergirl Sian Lloyd (which made them the closest thing to a celebrity couple that british politics has got), but he's run off with one of the bleeding Cheeky Girls!

And now he's in the news for trying to intervene over their threatened deportation.

As if it wasn't bad enough for the Lib Dems after stabbing Charlie in the back and then having their skeletons aired in quick succession. Now one of the few recognisable and up and coming faces not caught out in some indiscretion thinks that the country would be a better place for not sending the abomination that is the cheeky gils back where they belong.

Before any non-British ask, Lembit Opik MP is a British politician. "The Cheeky Girls" are a pair of twins from Transylvania that got a career as pop stars after appearing on a reality TV show (pop idol or something).

Parliament ought to pass a law preventing the formation of any music group that ends with "Girls." You'd think the world suffered enough the first time around.

I think we should adopt an Ali G style imigration policy:

'Fit, Fit, Fit, Back to Slovakia for you!'
