We have a hollow mouse that we fill with catnip. My cats love that fucking thing. They lick the shit out of it.
Our cats don't get catnip too often, so it's a treat for them.

My cat is fucking immune to catnip. We have given it two toys with catnip in them and she doesn't touch the damn things, but shit, wave a plastic milk jug ring or twist tie around and she will sit there and meow at you until you give her the damn thing.

My yard has many catnip plants (they spread easily once the first plant starts).
I have some indoors as well in planters.
My cats love it.
The neighborhood cats hang out in my yard when the weather is not so cold (i.e., when the catnip outside is growing).

My older cat enjoys her catnip in a tasteful, borderline healthy manner. She plays with catnip toys and is pretty quiet and unobtrusive about it.
My younger cat is a psycho over catnip. Don't leave a closed container of the stuff on the table; he'll jump up, grab it, knock it down, and break into it and have it all over the floor. He's a massive stoner cat. He's well over 20 pounds and is also completely evil. Catnip seems to be the only thing that even begins to level him out. That and laser pointers.
