I'm in my third year of university and I have to choose what to major in for my last year. I think a major in economics would help me more in finding a job but I definitely prefer geography... Anyone who studied them before (or didn't) got any advice?

Depends, how good are you at Geography? If you are good at economics, I think you will find it easier to become successful (in my opinion).

I'd be pretty even in both, but with geography just having the edge.. The problem is I don't really know what careers (if any) a major in geography could lead me too..

Economic Geography!

Allows me to major in geography without neglecting the three years of economics I did.

if you want to be wealthy-economics
if you want to be happy-chose the one you enjoy the most
if you enjoy economics the most-you'll be happy and wealthy

there should be jobs in the oil industry for geography types, I know there are archeology jobs in oil I never would have suspected that....archeology grads right of Uni are making about 80K in the oil sector here...

I think I'll do geography. I do enjoy it more plus at the end of the day I want to do something with my life that might make a difference and not just work in the financial sector making money for 'the man'.

Drop out. No really: there aren't any job in geography, so having a degree in it won't do you much good, and if you don't enjoy economics you aren't going to have much success in that field either.

Drop out and try to find a decent paying job that you don't entirely hate, then study geography in your free time. It'll be a lot cheaper and easier that way.

The borders are changing, people are killing each other, you will have a job because they will have to rewrite most of the geography books because they are becoming increasingly useless. Maybe you'll get jobs drawing maps of the various Stans which no one can make sense of.
