During the US' Constitutional Convention, the Founding Fathers debated in a closed Philidelphia room through the summer of 1787, wearing wool suits and powdered wigs.

And, all without deodorant...

They just wore the garb for the pictures. When nobody else was looking they were all naked.

Yes, the US was founded by a secret society of gay Masons...

First off, global warming hadn't started yet so it wasn't brainumbingly hot and humid.

2nd, how the fuck do you know they didn't have any windows open? It would have been stupid not to, and these were some of the smartest men in the history of the universe.

Lastly, while they may have tsarted off wearing wool suits, I can guarantee you that they wouldn't hesitate to shed clothes as the temperature xlimbed.

Oh yeah, they did have deodorant back then and people did bathe on at least a semi-regular basis.

Believe it or not, Summer is not a man-made phenomenon.

They wanted to keep everything a secret. It wouldn't be a democratic system if the people actually knew what the Hell their representatives were deciding for them.

You don't need global warming for it to be brain-numbingly hot, not on the East Coast.

2nd, how the fuck do you know they didn't have any windows open? It would have been stupid not to, and these were some of the smartest men in the history of the universe.

Sure, they probably did open the windows. But as smart as they were, these were still men who thought diseases were caused by miasmas and bad air, that living things like rats and mice were spontaneously generated by rotting matter, that something called "phlogiston" is what made things burn, that bleeding a sick person was an effective remedy for illness, etc.

Lastly, while they may have tsarted off wearing wool suits, I can guarantee you that they wouldn't hesitate to shed clothes as the temperature xlimbed.

One would hope so, but social mores can be pretty strict. Still, they may have shed their jackets and perhaps loosened their collars.

Emphasis on the "semi-regular."

If I recall correctly, they actually did ensure that the windows were closed and also that guards were posted at the doors.

Since they were, technically, committing treason by writing the Constitution as they were not empowered to do so. Their mandate was to fix the Articles of Confederation, not replace it. So, they were very concerned that news of what they were actually doing might get out.
