OK. Being Christmas and all, we all got lots of presents. No exceptions. So What did you all get?


I'll start:
2 GiB of RAM
Some Clothing
Some Vodka
Some Some Chocolate Orange. MMMMMMMM


So far, a good haul. Can't wait to see what I get at my dad's.

A guitar, a plasma TV, a digital camera, and possibly a new PC. I've saved up quite a lot of moolah.

Yeah, the plasma TV itself is just over $1,000, the guitar is about $60 a month, the digital camera isn't much over $100, and the computer is about $600 (but it's one I've selected parts for, so it's loaded).

I might have to scale it down a bit, so I can actually pay the bills. :p

Hmmm how un-American. It to me has become a holiday like Thanksgiving. Almost devoid of religious meaning really. We don't normally put up a tree in our home but we do give gifts to our children. We are far from Christians. However we do semi-celebrate it because it is an American tradition.

I open my Newtonmas presents on December 25th like a good secular humanist. So I don't know yet.

I have no idea what I'm getting this year. Usually I make a list but I couldn't be bothered so I told my family to just get me stuff they think I'd like.

Considering I am apparently the only one not in a time warp, I don't get to see what crappy shit my family got me, but the RCA Lyra M2030 and 2GB SD card are probably the best things I'm getting.

I just got an old 2001 PT Cruiser. Very good shape, excellent price. It could be called my "Christmas gift", but I'm willing to bet that my mom could use the extra set of wheels.

I'm totally getting that after Christmas. Ordering stuff from Thinkgeek is a big deal, so me and a few friends are gonna get together and make one big order.

I know I'm getting a guitar. I don't know why (I can't play and I haven't got any musical ability. Still going to try to learn, but it probably won't go well). Other than that, I neglected to make a list, so god only knows what will turn up.

Plus as stocking stuffers I got three Wii's, three Xbox360's, and three ps3's one system for each house, plus their current libraries. Also a couple of new games for my DS and PSP.

That's about it really, small haul this year. Last year I bought a couple of oil companies for christmas and decided to raise prices worldwide just to play with everyone.

As for chips and a motherboard, both are pieces of technology, though while a chip can also refer to an absurdly thin slice of potato dryed to crispyness, for this case, it is actually a small black square on the Motherboard, that is designed to have the Motherboard do something.

the Motherboard is one part of the brain of the computer, the Hardware half.

EVERYTHING depends on the motherboard, except possibly the moniter and the size of your hard drive. Its the largest piece of circutry in your computer. DO NOT TOUCH! Unless you know what your doing, and based upon your question, I assume you do not. Therefor, call someone who does, unless you want to kill your motherboard through a little ESD. (Electro Static Discharge.) That shock you occasionally feel touching a piece of metal is more than enough to kill your computer.

I got a wall calendar, a CD of Celtic music, a book (The Algebraist by Ian M. Banks), a mag-lite torch, and an electric frypan. I've been wanting the frypan for years, so this is a very good Christmas.

I got clothes, a necklace (my sister and I went Christmas shopping together and bought eachother stuff, we wrapped it up too for Xmas :p), PJs (again) and hopefully an mp3 player. :)
