Best Friends, vote on the poll all choices that apply,
you may contradict yourself under the circumstances,
I did, as I have one.
I have mixed feelings on this subject.

Vote I believe in Best Friends - I have one or more,
I dont have Best Friends - one or more,
Best Friends are just users.
I have been used before,
I have never been used before.

Share good best friend storys and bad best friend storys without
giving the names out to protect the innocents ones.

Best Friends are just what can I do for you,
and what can you do for me.

Watching court TV cases I know I am not the only one
who has helped out a friend and been burned bad in a similar way.

I once loand a friend at work $ 2000 dollars cash for the down payment
on a house he wanted to buy for his family, no legal papers to prove it, no interest required or expected, a few months rest period before starting to pay me back.

It turns out he used the money for other things and never bought the house,
his mother put the down payment on the house for the family.

We used to help each other out at work, sat toghether at lunch time until
the time came to pay me back, he said ill start paying you friday, the day came he said ill pay you next friday, the day came ill pay you next friday, then one day he picked a fight, dont ever talk to me again, dont ever sit by me again, knowing what was coming I said what about the money you owe me, he said ill pay you friday.

Friday came, he laughed in my face, I caused him out, he said get back to work or you can get fired, I bitched him out so loud the hole company found out, our boss said there is a no pandering law posted in the cafeteria, an employee cant lend another employee money.

Our boss said, he should pay you the money back, we cant do anything, but
you guys need to work toghether, If I report this to my boss'es both of you will be fired.

Eventually he paid me back the money, later on he got into an argument about work with one of the boss'es and got fired.

This is the main reason I voted in the poll the way I did.

Time has healed the wounds, but you still remember the details.

I am a heck of a nice guy even if I say so myself, lol.

Best friends are very real, but NEVER loan money out like that. It will never fail to destroy frienships, no matter how strong you think they are. On the same note, dont co-sign for your friends either, there is always a chance that nothing will go wrong, but why risk it?

If they are close enough that you would consider loaning them money, then its likley they will forgive you for not giving them any (if it even bothers them at all.)

If you "give" them money and they pay you back, thats fine, but never hand out anything that you cant live without seeing again.

Re best friends. I believe in them. It's not like there's a concrete definition, but sure.

I've never been used like that (two grand seems a lot of money for a casual loan. Fifty or a hundred quid, maybe, but two grand??), but my best friend and I stopped speaking for about three months because of a girl. He slept with her and three months later she became my girlfriend (which he said he was ok with). A month or two after that he stopped talking to me. We're fine now, but that was annoying.

Back in the 70s, and this was not the guy's fault, but my best friend and I were at the bar, talking up a couple young ladies. They argued over who got to go home with my friend. Ended up, they both went home with him, I went home alone.
