This is important stuff! I'm glad research money is being spent on this sort of thing - it warms the heart to know that someone with a lot of brains is spending his time analyzing road kill.

Robert McCleery, who completed his dissertation at Texas A&M on urban and suburban squirrels, outfitted squirrels with radio transmitter collars and found that 80 percent of them died under the tires of a car or truck.

And the other 20 percent?

Can you think of any good reason not to study squirrels?

Hmm. Maybe we should spend the research money on something more important....

Something more important might be prohibitively expensive, or already being researched with sufficient funding. Besides, you never know what they might learn.

This is what would happen if we didn't keep a check on those squirrels!

If these guys can figure out a way to keep the rodents out of my attic, I'm all for the research. Otherwise, I'm hiring the mercs.
