Totally. It's an utter piece of shit. The only way I could possibly hate it more would be if I actually knew what it was.

Ive used it, its a very powerful tool, it has a very competent WYSIWYG editor and it also has a code editor. It supports the use of site templates and a number of scripting languages and formats. And a very useful feature is the macromedia extension manager which can be used to install extensions to do just about anything. However it does have one very very annoying feature:

A very cluttered interface. You'll constantly find yourself moving the little toolbar windows around as they get in the way of what you're doing.

My advice for a happy Dreamweaver life: Get a second monitor and banish all toolbars to the extra desktop space so you have one screen dedicated to the WYSIWYG/Code editor window.

i used to hate it. now i've learned more about websites and stuff its a good tool, but by no means the only one. if you try to use it for everything then its a bitch, but for basic webdesign and structuring its a good tool

i tried to use nvu but that truly was a bitch

Ignore the WYSIWYG bit, and just use the HTML editor.
That's what I did when I had to use it.

Notepad>All when it comes to designing webpages.

Kids today with their fancy editors that load them down with worthless tags. I've seen sites you could cut in half by getting rid of the excess crap.

Why not crimson or Texpad?

People are so hot to jump on notepad just because it is perceived as being somehow 1337 but what about the whole host of features offered by other text based editors?

I like notepad because it's simple. It works as expected every time, doesn't do anything odd.

But since he's gay already . . .

That must mean he's trying to become a Super-Gay! Sassier than a meeting with Russell Clark, more flamboyant than a locomotive full of hair dressers, and when he gets to tall buildings he can . . . um, actually, let's not think about what he can do with a tall building.

I have never had a hiccup with the mentioned ones like crimson either .. solid, tabing ability

Text highlighting ability

Auto indent features if you turn them on

Not really. It's not as bad as some web designing softwares go. It just takes a while to get used to and learn.

no, just having trouble with it...... lots of trouble :(

most of the trouble lies in the API not supporting UK postcodes (ie zipcodes) because they're copyrighted to the crown or something.... makes everything huge pain in the ass
