Welp, I am officially a graduate of my college, with a BA in History. My grad school won't start till the fall, so from Dec. to Aug. I'm going to work at either an office or museum. As I look back at my college days, I realized several thing.

1. Cultural Credit was a waste of time.
2. I should sue Animal House for painting an unrealistic picture of college life.
3. I still had no social life in college, as in high school.
4. I did join the local Catholic club and the History Club, so not all was lost.
5. Most of the professors at my college were cool, however one of them was horrible, I gave him a bad review though.
6. I hope I enjoy Grad School more, espically now it's has to do more with the actual job that I want to do.
7. I love archival work!

Nothing yet, except get temp. work until the fall when grad school starts. Right now the BA is pretty much useless but combined it with a Masters in Public History and a Masters in Information and Library Science, and I can get any archiving job in the world.

As for the social life, well, I wasn't really social to begin with. I tried to be social but I just couldn't hang around with the smoking, drinking, and loud noise. Bah.

You know what sucks though, They do not have a December Graduate ceremony. The only ceremony they have is in May, and because my families want this, I have to wait till May to get the actual sheepskin. They won't UPSed it to me and then have me walk down the stupid isle.

My loving response.

1. BA's are a waste of time.
2. Don't feed the lawyers. They are the ones destroying our society.
3. Social lives are over-rated, until you have one.
4. No sex club at your school?
5. Cold teachers? Why wouldn't they turn the heaters up a dash.
6. Typically what happens.
7. I would wiki it, but it sounds too boring.

1. Well to get the Masters you need the BA.
2. Yea, but it would be a nice nest egg, and beside, if the fat kid can sue Mc. Donald then how come I shouldn't be allowed to sue the creators of Animal House?
3. I never had one. :(
4. Nah
5. Eh it was just this one teacher, didn't know how to teach, who would go on and on and on and on and on about NOTHING! and ugh.

2. Still, suing people is what is wrong with society. Wonder why Japan is "five years in the future"? Its because all the people that would have been lawyers here pursue constructive careers: medical/dental, R&D, Engineering. *continues hating lawyers*
3. The quickest way is to smoke, drink, and generally be loud.;)
4. You should transfer.
5. Well, I wouldn't be able to focus if I was cold either.
6. Sage advice from someone just entering uni.:p
7. But you rarely break stuff. And nothing you work with is lethal.

In the U.S., "undergraduate" designates someone who is in their first four years of university (or however long it takes them to get their bachelor's degree). Anything after that is "graduate," i.e. masters/PhD/post-doc.

Talk down to construction workers (who oddly enough, will make three times what you do) in bars.

That, and pick up your teeth after.

Persuade employers that you have learned from the past and will do better than your predecessors at whatever task it is that you're doing. That and research for documentaries, a bit of journalism, teaching History in schools, that kind of thing.

I'm also slightly gutted that this wasn't about BA (Barracas) himself, but oh well.

Well, I can only think of two things. Teach History, and be cited in papers about history as some one with a degree in history.

I believe you'll get sufficient "proof" of graduation from that exam. What does it take for you to make it dissapear. Further, lawyers can be dead sexy. They could also be evil as fuck and cause more detriment than good. Bravo on the comment regarding lawyers and politicians. Lawyers as politicians makes us wonder what the proof "is." Even when it's plainly viewed on the dress. Finally, how many of you would let the proof be spilled all over your dress and not have it dry cleaned the next day?
