A small question..

And I apologise if this has been answered in another thread and I haven't seen it.

I've been reading through various posts for a few months now, and I've noticed a lot of..."displeasure", let's say, with America - especially from citizens of the EU and the UK. Why is that? Is it how the US is mishandling Iraq, percieved Imperialism, or just because everyone else hates the US?

Any feedback would be greatly apperciated.

Personally, I dislike many things about the US, but not the country as a whole. Indeed, I think that the way it was started originally is quite inspirational, to me as a Classic Liberal of sorts.

It just failed to live up to the hype. The constant hypocrisy, the disappointments time and time again, the ignorance and disdain and so on and so forth. It's hard to swallow.

Regardless of all America's many faults, I still Love Her. God Bless America.

I feel the world looks at us and expects us to be perfect. Wake Up Call. We are human the same as you. Practically, every Nation has done some sort of shameful acts. Whether it be the UK, France, Germany, Japan, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, well you see where I'm going with this. This isn't a perfect world. People just needs to get over what ever it is their displeased about. Move on.

As for America, I love and will stand by my home nation No matter what the deal is. America is my Home. Home Sweet Home. May God continue to Bless America!

Because it's fun to jump on the bandwagon.

After all, humans are lemmings. One goes off the cliff, the rest follow.

I don't hate the U.S.
Half my family is there.
I just disagree with Bush and his political ideals, and take pity upon those who just blindly follow his leadership without knowing what's really going on.

Anti-Americanism? A natural reaction from the disempowered against the empowered. Its nothing personal, people would hate the hyperpower no matter who it was (although I suspect that the USA would be among the most popular), and it makes sense that they would, any state with that much power NEEDS to have international oversight of the harshest variety.

The images on that page make me rolf, especially the Nazi poster with the giant KKK-black man-jitterbugging-bomblegged-whore-robot.

Religious fundamentalists seem to hail from the US quite often... I can't go to the English conversation meeting anymore without getting into a big argument about ID vs Evolution or God's existance or something like that. :(

I dont see that much 'anti-americanism', certainly not enough for it to be significant given the context.
