Ok, i could sit here now and have a sensible discussion on whether on not its evil to drink alcohol, and whether it should be banned, and whether the government has the right to make that choice asnyway.

Sadly i've only jsut got up so im not going to.

So, whats everyone favourite type of alcohol and why? (poll comming in just a sec)

Lousy poll. Multiple choices needed. Anyway I could use a Negroni right now.

Added. Hereby I say unto all people who want to ban alcohol: "Begone from this plane of existance, thou scion of evil! I ban thee in the name of Bacchus!"

i generally drink beer (as in real ale) when i'm out or double gin and tonic if i've eaten a lot beforehand. with meals i'll usually drink red wine, occaisionally white. if i'm just drinking at home i'd usually have a bottle of wine, a case of beer or i'd drink dark rum, either straight or with crushed ice, lots of limes squeezed in and a dash of cola if i'm feeling frisky.

good point :) . that's another thing i only have on aeroplanes, though. weird that. probably cuz i'm always ridiculously hung over from the fairwell parties the night before.

Best morning drink ever. When I lived in Baltimore, after a long night of drinking on a Saturday night, my mates and I would meet up in a pub at about 10 am and knock back a few Bloody Marys before heading to the Orioles game on Sunday afternoon.

Have never been there, am far too lasy to walk that far. We usualy end up in crags, or go all the way to potterow if we are feeling like a long walk. (tho did go down to the cowgate far to often at the begining, the bouncers now know me at siglo....)

Aftershocks are so so so nasty tho. Never drink them. Especially never drink layered aftershocks (a shot of each colour layered one on top of the other. They stay seperate if done properly). They arnt that sweet tho, or at least they flavour covering the sweetness is so strong and revolting you dont notice it.

No, it's not that. I've had many good beers. Even the best is only drunk because 1) it's there, and offered, and/or cheap, 2) it has some alcohol so it can at least help with building a buzz.

Some beers are tastier than others, but really, it's an alcoholic beverage and that is why it's drunk for the most part.

if i want to get pissed i drink straight rum from the bottle. if i don't want to get pissed i drink rum and coke (normal measures) cuz it has no noticeable affect on me (after a night on that i don't even want chips). if i want to get gradually pissed while enjoying some good conversation and a pub quiz i'll drink beer.

Why drink rum and coke if it doesn't affect you at all? Why not just the coke? It'd be cheaper and wouldn't be contributing to cirrhosis of the liver.

Oh? Do tell!

Well, it all happened one night at potterow.
It was the sport unions night, and i expected there to be a huge que to get in as there are ltos of societies, so i bought a bottle of whiskey to drink in the que.
Sadly there wasnt a que, and the bouncers wouldnt let me take in the whiskey. So me and danny (a friend) sat on the wall outside and drank the bottle. We then went in and drank several pints of something that was probably stella (it was getting a little hazy by then).
We then met up with/fell on several other friends and went and joined the trampolining club, where i may have tried (successfully) to pull the 24 year old social organiser. I then proceded to fall over a lot, creating many embarassing photos of me and danny lying on the floor together. I then also told my ex that i still loved him (he doesnt still love me it seems). I then stumbled home somehow and thought it was a great idea to invite spyros up to my room at half 3 in the morning, and he (being the manwhore he is) agreed.

There was then much pointing and laughing the next morning.

Even though I don't turn 21 for another 10.2 hours, I've imbibed the glorious drink known as beer in copious amounts.

Never tastes as good once it's legal. I should know; turned 18 this summer. :p

Booze good.

Beer or red wine would be my choice of tipple.
