I would be perfectly fine and happy during this time of year.


But the music is everywhere. Every store, every shop, even where I work. At least 5 hours at least 3 times a week.


I really think its the music that makes me a bitter ass this time of year.

Christmas carols are banned in my house. I hear them everywhere else I go, I don't need them at home.

I put up with them in excess of 30 hours last week, at home, at work, and when buying stuff. :(

I'm starting to hate it because everyone is driving like an asshole lately. No one let's me in, no one let's me over, everyone is running red lights and just sitting in intersections. God. Damn. Christmas.

Oh, I thought you meant the Xmas music that music companies produce so that they have the number one spot. Now that I really do hate. I was watching a mornign TV program the other day and this girl band, in a Olmert-esque gaffe, admit the song their releasing was chosen purely because it would sell records, not because it meant anything to the band or because they liked it.

i know it's annoying. even worse that it starts earlier every year.

It don't really bother me, it's a non thing for me Xmas, I'll probably sleep through it

i kind of hate christmas, it's so ugly, all the stupid ornaments. there are small santa's hanging from windows everywhere. not that far from my house there is someone who decorated his home with a large (1.5 m diameter) star.
the only thing that's ok about it is getting toghether with the whole family and having a party, i don't really like it all that much, but i guess my grandparents and parents like it to see the other family members again. but other than that it's just fake and commercial. (not that it bothers me all that much really, i just don't participate)

Oh Gods yes, christmas tunes are definately the worst things about christmas. I used to like that slade xmas song but after the thousandth repitition this week, it kinda grates.

Now the only christsmas song I like it the Darkness' one, but thats probably only because it was released fairly recently.

I Believe in Father Christmas by Emerson, Lake & Palmer is probably my favourite.

Christmas (and especially Christmas music) is mostly rubbish, though.

So did I, untill I heard the same few bars over and over again in about eevery christmas advert.

I just remembered what I do like though. A album released, I think it was last year, all the christmas carols done by a full jazz band, I think they were called jazzenda. I think they saved by sanity last year, I just hope they'll be able to do it this year...

The problem is they place the same 3 songs: Carol of the Bells, White Christmas, and Jingle Bell Rock.

They need some more Christmas in Hollis by Run-DMC.

I hate the commercialisation of christmas 'tunes', but if I do enjoy some good carols, and by that I mean SATB + organ, preferably in a church for the acoustics.

This is why I like "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" and other jolly songs.

our family has a tradition of only listening to parody Christmas at home, if we need to hear traditional it's not too hard to seek it out, especially with one of the kids being in competing choir, she has to practice enough 'normal' music at home anyway.
