The Yorkshire Ripper said he heard voices in his head from God telling him to commit his crimes. The fact that he is killing Prostitutes seems to suggest he could be mentally ill and believiung that God is telling him to commit the killings.

Lots of serial killers kill in "sprints". And we have no real idea what he really did with the bodies - that's probably obscured because it would harm the case (and incite copycats).

I heard something on the radio the day before yesterday that they're thinking this could be linked to a similar set of murders a few years ago. I don't know what the up-to-date thinking on that speculation is now, though.

Nah. People kill prostitutes because they're accessible. Need a victim? Pull up near one and they'll happily get in your car. I'd say the only motives are religious or he simply enjoys killing, and the prozzies are convenient targets.

Well, yeah, of course they're still working. Very few people decide to become prostitutes if they have the financial means to do something else. They're still going out for business because the alternative would generally be letting themselves and their families starve.

I doubt that they are prostituting themselves to feed their families, they can easily pay for food with the money that the government gives them. Most likely they are still working to get their next fix. It's not cheap being a heroin addict.
