Are you creative?

IL Ruffino

As a student in highschool, I suck at classes except for Web Design and art class. I seem to have more of a creative mind, than a learning mind. This is the reason why I hate school and wish to skip the next year-and-a-half of highschool and go straight to studying photography in college.

Er.. yeah...

I'd call myself 'resourceful' or 'versatile' before 'creative'. But that's not for lack of trying. I'm the MacGyver of Wacky. :)

I suppose so.

Im a musician of sorts and writing songs does take a good deal of creativity.
It also takes a ton of practice and learning whatever instrument you happen to be playing.

Currently, Im writing some songs that I hope to record in the near future with some very good friends of mine, who also play music as well.

I find that I do better when I have someone else to bounce ideas off of.
Someone else can hear something Ive come up with and suggest something that makes it sound much better.

Ive got two or three solid starts for songs, and another one or two floating about.
If I can get 10 songs by spring, I'll be fecking ecstatic, but I'll settle for 5 or 6.

yes and no.
yes in the sense that i can totally empathise with your situation, and that i know the way i learn to be a creative process (i hate being told what to do and can only really learn something by figuring it out by myself, a la a creative process), i was always good at creative writing (had poems published when i was in prep school) and won awards in school for english, art, drama, etc... and i also currently work as a graphic designer and webartist as well as enjoying photography and writing as hobbies.

however in some ways i am not creative, largely because i was forced down a purely academic route in my school/college because that was the kind of school it was, and i realise now that studying physics, chemistry, biology and economics was probably not best suited to me as a person. however, i did well across the board at GCSE level in artistic subjects as well as academic ones. the creativity was sucked out of me by my school, and only in recent year(s) am i finding this creative side to myself :)

Am I creative?

...

No. No, not at all. I'm the most grey, most banal, most mundane, most utterly bland person on the face of the earth. I have no imagination to speak of, and come to that, no mind to speak of as well... and oh, why not, I simply cannot speak in the first place. Call me Vegetable and pull the plug.

But that's not the worst of it. The saddest part of this is because of my lack of creativity, I cannot even cook for myself. I am doomed to bread sandwiches all my days.

Oh the shame.

Doom-ish stoner rock?

I say "rock" becuase Im not sure if its "metal", but its gonna damn well be heavy.

Generally I am quite analytical, but when it comes to music, that's when my only real creativeness can be seen/heard (or so I'm told). I'm doing a music degree, so as part of that I write music in various styles as exercises, but I also compose in my own styles. This is all classical music, whether that takes more skill/creativity is up to the listener, its probably more complex, but that doesn't make it automatically better than more populist music.

I'm extremely creative. My imagination is as vivid as can be. My problem has been in expressing my creativity, however. I have a difficulty with words, for instance, rendering most writing of mine rather technical and passionless despite how it might sound in my head(seeing as how I think more in imagry than wrods, per se) and whatever artistic ability I may have once had has atrophied to absolutely nothing. (I'd show an example but I don't want to embarrass myself.) It's quite frustrating, really.

but i haven't done anything creative properly since i was 15 when i got an A for gcse art. i like being creative when i take photos but my photo taking is more opportunistic than a hobby (i mean it's not a hobby at all, just, if i have a camera on me and i see something that'd make a good photo i take it).

Have you considered painting yourself in loads of love hearts and streaking?

That's what you should do.

Anyway..

Do women shudder when they pee? I know it seems random and slightly pervy (although If I were so inclined I'm sure I could find videos) but it's been bothering me for five minutes and I didn't think it deserved it's own thread and since this one is convenient.. I only need a yes or no answer?

It's not so random to me.. I was doing my usual ritual of coming home from work without going to the toilet since this morning, trying to lock the door and then giving up to dash to the toilet to relieve myself when a particulary strong shudder caused me to require the use of a mop. As you can see, for the typical male, ignorant of female toilet-based happenings, what follows is just logic and a desire to learn..

So yes or no?
