http://nkorea.ytmnd.com/ Dude, if this photo wasn't doctored then either, getting honored is easy in North Korea or they have superior commanders to ours.

They all seem remarkably similar, so might it just be part of the regular uniform?

Why would they waste all that metal for a uniform? It wastes precious metals and would slow the general especially when he needs to escape, it just doesn't figue.

Ever since Brezhnev, the general consensus among Communist nations is for leaders to wear a hell of a lot of medals.
Yep. The Peoples Medals, of course.

Not actually, each of those things is a massive star, American military awards are mostly little 1 inch by 1/4 of an inch bars except for a few really big awards. Every military generals out in Class A uniforms with the 1 ft by 1ft block on them? That is probably 50 or 60 awards.
Any idea what that music is playing in the background?

that is just the ribbon dude. My medals are hanging from an award ribbon that is an inch wide and usually about an inch and a half long. The we get to the actual medal. Bronze star is just taht, a bronze star which is itself an inch across. Purple heart is about the same. I never wore my actuall medals on my greens. You only really wear that if you're in dress blues, which (unless you're in a ceremonial unit like The Old Gurad, as I was) you have to buy for I think about 700 dollars.
The North Koreans give medals out for everything from time in service to successful command of a unit (I guess not starting a war counts as a success to them but you can't be sure) So yeah, ther old guys have lots. Your average trooper doesn't have anything tho.

Well, considering that calling NK an involuntary satire of the Soviet Union would be reasonably accurate...
