I've seen a lot of things come out of Japan, but pink beer? The horror, the HORROR!

ISHIKARI, Hokkaido -- Cana Story, a pink happoshu brew developed by female college students and an Ishikari microbrewer and named after the place where Jesus Christ turned water into wine, goes on sale Sunday.

Nihon Ji Biiru Kobo, the Ishikari microbrewer, developed the pink happoshu in conjunction with students from Fuji Women's University.

"We cut down the bitterness in the hope that female university students would like the taste, too," Yasuharu Osugi, Cana Story's brewer, said. (story continues)

Seeing as this "beer" has been developed in a country who's populace frequently correct my "foreign-ness" and claim that the traffic-light signal for "go" is blue, not green, I think we'll have to give them a little lee-way in deciding its "official" colour...

There's nothing wrong with that, but beer isn't supposed to taste good. Well, some do. Beer is supposed to taste complex. A good beer has several distinct flavors that both stand apart and blend together. A very good beer is like very good Indian food. :)

We might actually have to add alcohol to it for it to be legal. I mean the store I work at sellsalcohol free beer, but it all has alcohol in it.
