Lifesavers:How can llamas help defeat bio weapons? (http://science.howstuffworks.com/bio-llama.htm)
As most of us know, llamas are our friends. They're soft, good-natured and amusing to view, and their name has the distinction of being one of only 12 words in the English language starting with a double-L (according Webster's Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged). But little did we know that these fuzzy, camel-like creatures might save us all should the End come in the form of a biological attack.

To sum up the article for the lazy among you, scientists can use antibodies from llama blood as biosensors to detect biological weapons, since llamas(and sharks, and camels) produce very resilient antibodies compared to humans. So one day, a llama could save your life.

Perhaps that's why Will Wright has always been obsessed with them.

I've always liked llamas; but I have no idea why. Maybe because they're cute when they're fwuffy, plus they've got a downright cheeky side. I've always preferred animals who get annoyed at people; maybe that would explain my preferrence for cats over dogs.

Thanks, Ifreann, for giving me another reason to like llamas. I have this amazing vision of superllama coming to the rescue...

The llama song is a classic. But what I also recently noticed is that Monty Python also did a llama song. Think it's on Youtube. Not by any means their best song (the Lumberjack song is a personal favourite of mine) but it just goes to show that they've attempted so many things that are now quite popular.

Don't you mean Jeff Minter, the creator of Llamatron?
