Horrible. Pure evil. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6213012.stm)

I demand that he be put on death row, or at least life in prision.
But seriously? Is that even a crime? And if it is, what is wrong with the mother? This is like something that would come from the onion.....

....What the fuck?
A 12 year old boy was actually ARRESTED for opening early Xmas presents?
That's really really retarded.Funny what the police will respond to these days.

lol...I came in ready to chew you out for advocating the death penalty and became rather amused instead. I bet it'll be good for the kid in the long run. my parents "homeschooled" me instead of letting me go to juvie for truancy, and I honestly sort of think I would have learned shit alot quicker if they hadn't been quite so merciful...though I'd also probably be even more militantly anti-authority, too. hrm.

read the article. He was arrested for breaking into someone elses home and taking property that wasn't his.

Whether it's a family dispute or otherwise, he still entered someone's home without her permission, that is illegal.

I did read the article. It's just the fact that the cops arrested a 12 year old kid for opening his Christmas presents early. He's just a kid, surely? So he needs disciplining, but arresting him for petty larceny is a tad extreme, don't you think?

Quote from the mother

Ms Ervin told the Associated Press she hoped the authorities could scare her son into behaving himself.

"It's not even about the Christmas present," she said.

"I'd rather call (the police) myself than someone else call for him doing something worse."

The child is violent, has had previous run ins with law enforcement and refused to return the gift when the grandmother requested it.

Being raised by his grandmother and mother with an abscent father that was sent to prison before the boy was born has left him near a delinquent--the mother respectably asked the police to scare him.

Note, in an interveiw with her i heard this morning it didnt work.
He was unphased during the arrest, not even a tear.

The real horrible thing is that fucking morons think raising spoiled psycopaths who are indifferent to consequences is funny, and acceptable.

It is unfortunate that he cant be caned as well as cuffed.

I didn't say it was funny. I said it was outrageous, and that quite frankly our police have much better things to be doing, say keeping the peace for example.

Here's the real problem:

"He had repeatedly taken the present, a Nintendo video game console, from its hiding place in his great-grandmother's house."

Either you hide the stupid present in a different spot - or you get rid of it completely and the misbehaving brat will not get it for Christmas. Or smash it and put it in its hiding place with a card reading "Santa wuz here and pwned ur present!"

That would be a lesson the kid might understand. It really is that easy.

Now the mothers in the States need the cops to raise their children?

Smash it and re-hide!:D

I like the way you think!

Plus this would re-instill the fear of Santa in the child. Kris (the Krusher) Kringle is not to be taken lightly.

Have the police truly nothing better to do? This woman should've been charged with some kind of "wasting the police's time" charge, or whatever it's called in English.

This boy needs psychological help. If he has ADHD and other problems, he won't really be afraid of prison or anything. Whether he may have been raised without a father figure or not, he needs some sort of help now, and a day in prison means either another trauma or (as it was the case) jack sh*t to him.

Kid is mentally ill. He needs to be institutionalized and helped, not thrown in juvi.

Nice story. Where I live, had the mother made the call, the police would have killed the kid, mother, neighbour and all black people in sight. Just because the bitch made that call. Merry Christmas.
