Ok, so some guy has crucified Santa because he feels Santa is the ultimate symbol of our consumerism. Of course someone found it offencive and is out in full force whining about how this will scare the children and moke them cry.

The article (http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?in_article_id=28554&in_page_id=2) (Sorry for the poor quality [ie typos] but it was the only one I found with a picture.)

Luckily the authorities are be sensible and not forcing him to take it down. What does NSG think about this?

Personnally, I am glad that the authorities are refusing to make him take it down.

I think it's hilarious that she would worry that the children would be 'upset' because 'they think Santa is at the North Pole getting their presents ready'

does she also protest the Santa at the mall? He has a real chance of fooling kids into thinking he is "the real Santa"

Santa's magic ability to make clones of himself only morks when she approves.

First Jesus, now Santa. Who's next? The Easter Bunny?

This violence has got to stop!

I think most kids today realise that Santa is legion. Kind of like in the 3rd episode of Star Wars.

This part is golden:
Another woman complained: 'I think it's an evil way. Kids see things like that and children — they see that on the front page — I think that's terrible.'
For starters, she is helping to get him on the first page. More importantly, when has a child young enough to believe in Santa ever read a newspaper?

I'm not sure how shocking this is supposed to be, given that this guy is just ripping off an old urban legend. (http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas/cross.asp)

All the same, its about time: that fucker had it coming. I'm spent six years waiting for him to get off his lazy ass and get me a pony, and what did I get every year? Socks. Socks and liquor. Have you got any idea what its like to be hung over when your five-years old?
Well I don't either, because of chronic memory loss, but I'm pretty sure it was unpleasant.

Seeing the front page and reading the newspaper are two different things...or have you read the every publication you have seen the front of?

The kids are going to realize that Santa Claus is a fraud sooner or later.
I realized that Santa wasn't real when I was like 7ish. =P

why?

there is a yard down the street from us with a "dead santa" in it and crime scene tape all around it with a few elves with CSI jackets on.......my kids aren't traumatized, they thought it was funny, we even knocked on his door and gave him candy canes

of course I didn't lie to my kids about santa though

I thought it was quite funny, an astute reflection of our mindless consumerism, how does spending ridiculous amounts of money prove you love your kids than being sensible......I figured out there was no Santa when I was 4 and I doubt any kids will be confused any more than when they see a Santa in every mall....

I'm a tad more practical than that. I don't know at what age I was when I found out there was no Santa, about 5 or 6, but I do know my reaction: I was okay with it as long as I got presents. :p

*Pictures a 5-year old that goes, while weighing with both hands which one he cares more for:

"Hmmm, lessee, dying for sins I never committed, giving me free stuff, dying for sins I never committed, giving me free stuff..."

just because he has a right to publish his cartoons doesnt mean he isnt a dick for doing so.

we have the freedom to do lots of things that are creepy, meanspirited and dickish.

The reason why Santa hasn't been found at the North Pole is because he actually lives at the South Pole, the Great Expoler Scott discovered this so Santa had to Kill him, that Drunk Dane that was the first man to return from the South Pole was too high to notice Santas Palace, of course Santa has a cloking device as well.
