Perfume

Ok, Cabra has a girlie problem, folks.
I've spent ages and ages trying to find a nice perfume for myself. Something not too heavy, woody, oriental, spicy, with maybe insence or sandalwood in it. And lo and behold - last February in Germany I got lucky.

http://www.altocity.com/images/prod/5/5746/50493480_lg.jpg

Flower by Kenzo Oriental - everything I ever wanted from a perfume. I got a bottle of it and was happy.
Now the bottle is nearing it's end, and as christmas is not too far away, I asked my mother to get me another one as a present. She went to a couple of shops, but got the same everywhere : Out of stock and discontinued. Apparently, this scent was only temporarily available, like a summer promotion. And I didn't know, otherwise I would have stocked up on it. :(

Ok, so my question now to all you girls out there : do you know about a perfume that is a bit similar to this one?
One that's not overpoweringly fruity, or kills your sense of smell by suffocating it with orchid? One that's got a bit of vanilla, a bit of rosewood, a bit of incense, amber, that kind of smell?

Personally, I love a girl who smells of Le Desorde C'est Moi.

Not as bad as people.

People smell of people. I'll take the twenty labourers smelling of tar and turps and sweat, for the one girl who smells of nice, healthy girl.

Ok, going back to my cave to make a picture of my own hand now ...

Ugh... I get that in the bus every day. And apparently, I cannot get used to it no matter what I try. It always makes me sick.

Ah, but sweetie, looky here:

First of all, Douglas (German perfume store chain) still has it on their website (http://www.douglas.de/DGCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=37497).

And if that's just some evil trick there's always trusty old eBay, the place to get discontinued cosmetics:

Germany (http://search.ebay.de/kenzo-flower-oriental_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8)

UK (http://search.ebay.co.uk/flower-kenzo-oriental_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8)

US (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=flower+kenzo+oriental&category0=&submitSearch=Search)

I don't think that I have smelled myself, but I typed the name into Google and there seem to be a lot of places online selling it so you could order it that way.

You know what, you're right.
I didn't consider that because I normally hate shopping online, but in this case I already know what the product's like... :D
Thanks.

Not as bad as people.I prefer the smell of clean people over dirty people doused in perfume to cover up their smell.
In fact, I also prefer the smell of clean people over clean people doused in perfume..

I like the smell of clean people using deodorant and a hint of perfume.
Too much of anything is never good.

AOL. Same with deodorant, most of which smells like snorting Vodka.

I was happy when I discovered odourless deodorant (http://www.pitrok.co.uk/push.html). Thumbs up to the hippie woman on Steve Wright in the Afternoon!

I don't tend to wear perfume often, I do make my own lotion though and it's scented.

I can't share the exact recipe though, because then I wouldn't have my own distinct smell. ;)

I do like a perfume that has orange flower, rose, musk and sandalwood. It's pretty hard to get though, and I only wear it on special occasions.

Yep :)
I bought one just to see if it worked, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It is expensive to buy a thing of it, but it doesn't seem to get used up, so that works out fine in the long run!

mitchum (http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/mitchum-antiperspirant-deodorant-roll-unscented-50ml-p-3083.html) do one that's an anti-perspirant as well as a deoderant, ruins t-shirts after a few months though.

I got a free sample of it about 4 years ago for a survey, I have been buying it since, I tend to get overwhelmed if my deodorant has scent, and my shampoo has scent, and my lotion has scent.......it's like "wow, I don't smell good anymore"

so I buy that, and make my own shampoo and lotion so that they smell the same.

I am weird, I claim it.

Also, all of the candles in my house have the same scent, I make those too.

Depends... it doesn't seem to work for everyone. I've got a friend who's very much into alternative cosmetics and she swore by it. I never had the heart to tell her that you could smell her body odour as soon as she so much as lifted an arm. :(
I tried it myself once, and it didn't work for me either.
The deodorant I'm using now is the roll-on by nivea. It smells very softly of lotion, as if you'd just showered and used a bit of nivea cream to moisturise your skin.

I dislike anti-perspirant and roll-ons, though. Sticky. Ugh!
Yeah, I'm fussy what I shove under my armpits ;)

it didn't seem to work on hubby either, which is weird, since we were told once (by someone completely unreliable) that it depends on your blood type.....you know how like perfumes smell different on different people, this person said that your blood type had to do with how your body works with certain......anyway, yeah it's a load of crap, but okay nevermind.

*lol
I don't doubt that the blood type might play a role, but it would depend on much more than that. I think your diet would have much more influence, also if you smoke or not, drink or not, ect.
The crystal never worked on me, and I hate it when I smell. But I don't like strong deodorants either, because they might clash with my perfume or lotion or hairspray... I'm glad I found the nivea one. And the Body Shop Almond Body Butter as lotion, it's fantastic and has a very, very faint scent of almonds. Works wonderful with the perfume. :D

Perfume by Suskind. Odd and disquieting book, translated from German I think.
Perhaps you should do a google search for your organs? Buy 'em quick if you wanna keep them ...
