It was Sir Winston Churchill, although I believe that he actually said 40 instead of 30. :D

If this was your first visit to NationStates General then I can guarantee you that the behaviour of all this lot is perfectly normal; all of the NSG members are a little strange.

Anyway, world government is basically your thing? Why? Human nature would inevitably destroy the fairness of that proposition; rich areas could threaten to defect and would quickly have their demands implemented. There would be corrupt officials, a massive, sprawling bureacracy and an ineffectual system of policing. The distances involved are too great to do anything effectively, most people would dislike it (contrary to popular opinion, most people hold a degree of mild nationalism in their hearts, as in 'I like being independent. Why should my nation be absorbed into anything else?') and, lastly, consider the potential consequences. Competition has driven the human race. Nations race to create new technologies before other nations. Nuclear weapons were created by the USA in an attempt to outdo the Soviet Union, and their usage in Japan was merely an opportunity to demonstrate their power. From nuclear weapons came nuclear power. The concept had been around since the early 1900's, thanks to Albert Einstein, but it was the development of nuclear weapons, the proof that immense energy really WAS in the atom, that led to the further development of nuclear power.
World language? Think of the difficulties to implement that. I'm not going to bother listing them all.

But Aquilisaria, why are you against guns? I personally am against them too, but I recognise the need for them. Are you against guns under a certain set of conditions, or against them completely?
You're an atheist? I'm not altogether certain of what I am. I have my own religion, but I'm not really devoted to it. I live my life by a moral code closely based on a fear of going to some sort of hell when I die. I have an interest in philosophy and theology, philosophy involving God a lot more than most people would suspect. I'm also interested in the science of God, so to speak. I woudln't describe myself as an agnostic, but neither would I call myself an atheist or a theist.
You should probably keep an open mind. Speaking as the great nerd that I am, nerds, in general, are always a little uncertain.
What aspects of science are you interested in? Physics? If so, what part of physics? Science is a huge, wide-ranging topic. You couldn't possibly be interested in it all.

Off-topic, is your name based on the Warcraft character, Khadgar? I realise that sounds a stupid question....
