I knew there were links...but not to this extent!

If true...ouch!! Esp this...

'Steele highlighted Google's blatant censorship policies whereby press releases put out by credible organizations that are critical of Dick Cheney and other administration members don't make it to Google News even though they are carried by PR Newswire.

We have repeatedly highlighted past examples of censorship on behalf of Google, including their blacklisting of a mainstream news website that was mildly critical of China, and also the deliberate stifling and manipulation of Alex Jones' Terror Storm film ranking on Google Video. Google was also caught red-handed attempting to bury the Charlie Sheen 9/11 story at the height of its notoriety.'

Ordinarily I'd agree with you...I'm not one for conspiracy stuff...but I have read enough and spoken to enough people in the field to make me wonder.

Also note...I said if true ;)

I'm just surprised that anyone would be surprised by any of this. The CIA has a long history of buying various corporations, and demanding that civilian corporations do things which advance the interests of the US. So what else is new? They own several dozen fairly large corporations today, everything from airlines to banks to boat dealerships in Florida. And this is news?:p

Urmm... why is this such a shock?

They've a whole history of doing shady things, and I'm sure that information they can gleam from my computer such as "He's searched for 'Crazy bowling cats nude'!" will be astonishingly useful to them.

Sorry, but:

YaCy is written entirely in Java 1.4.2.

YaCy runs on Windows and comes with an easy-to-use installer application. Please download the Windows Release Flavour of YaCy instead the generic one.

The general distribution includes a Mac OS X wrapper shell, which is double-clickable. The application can be monitored and administrated through a web server that you can open with your Safari browser.

Linux/Unix: You can start YaCy in a console, and monitor it's actions through a log file. A wrapper shell script for easy startup is included. You can administrate the proxy remotely through the built-in http server with any browser.
