Happy to serve

Over the last couple of days there has been a very well-spoken family of black South Africans coming to my restaurant. As a white European man, I have found it both a pleasure and a privilege to show them the same level of service I would show anybody. Juding by their demeanour, I suspect that the young men in the group have never been called "Sir" by a white man before - certainly not by one who smiles and talks with them. I honestly feel honoured to serve them - and not out of a sense of guilt. Instead I feel genuinely elevated by my serving them well.

So. My question is - who would you be happy to serve and why?

 Serve? As in: were I a waiter who would I be happy to serve? Why?

Because since humans are social creatures we are meant to help each other. Plus the world has too many selfish bastards around making hell for the rest of us.

I voted for others, only because I serve them because I serve Christ and He commands that I serve others.

That's not to say I don't take joy out of it, or that I serve others only as my duty. I just don't think I would enjoy it or want to serve others unless I wanted to serve Christ also.

[sigh]

I intended the question in a more general sense. Sorry if I didn't make that sufficiently glaringly obvious.

Good for you. How do you serve Christ et al?

I work in tech support. I also worked as a sales clerk, as well as a camp councilor...

I like the feeling it gives me and some people have told me they appreciate the feeling they get when they are served properly.

Wasn't being rude: just didn't get the link between story and question. As such I'd like to serve as a voice for the voiceless masses if I may...

he just said, by serving others.

as you have treated the least amoung you, you have treated me. as you have shown respect to the lowest of you, you have respected me. (paraphrased, of course.)

Not to be rude, or anything, but Gul-Gellioth is more middle management, so I don't quite serve him, but I guess he is my day supervisor, so its pretty close.
