The Right Brothers do it again

The Nazz

First it was the anthem "Bush was Right." Then they followed up with "I Want to Live," a ballad in the voice of a fetus (I am not making this up).

But they've really outdone themselves now. Playing at their MySpace page right now, I present The Right Brothers with "I'm In Love With Ann Coulter." (http://www.myspace.com/therightbrothers)

I don't think a parodist could do what these guys do and hold it together. It's like watching a musical train wreck.

Take the poll.

Are you sure they aren't parodists, Nazz? They seem that way to me.

Ironically, they have a fairly convincing musical presentation for being mostly bland.

If they are, they're not letting anyone see behind the curtain. I believe they've been Hannitized in the past, and they have a quite loyal following, from what I understand.

Hmm. I can see them being a first-rate un-cracking parody, but I suppose that they really beleive themselves. Pity... I find them quite amusing.

I'd complain about their message, but really, they haven't got one. Ironically, for a band that complains about not talking about the issues, they don't deal with issues too much. And really, as a guy who listens to their polar opposites, I find them an interesting learning experience in what it feels like to be on the other side of things.

I've no clue who the hell you're talking about Nazz.

If you want to make a scathing indictment of the US, don't just bring up random whackjobs with a Myspace.

Are they total idiots? Possibly.

Wow. So yet another pillar of right-wing politics admits to being homosexual. Groovy. :)

If anything, I think the heaviest condemnation comes from the fact that these folks are on myspace. I loathe myspace.

I'm just pointing a finger at that band and laughing is all. Nothing serious here.

Just because they're in love with Ayn- er Anne doesn't mean that they want to have sex with her- er him.

I don't think anyone in their right minds would want that...

It's just another marketing tool. Hell, even Willie Nelson has a myspace page now.

You mean the fact that they use a medium that puts them directly in contact with a vast majority of their intended market? You must really hate bands on MTV then...

No, no, no. Myspace is the one who gets my loathing, for very good reasons of my own.

They're very good reasons.

Great, now I gotta go scrub out my ears. The soap industry thanks you, Nazz.

...and I'll thank you for providing us with yet another reason to point and laugh.

...and I'll thank you for providing us with yet another reason to point and laugh.I was watching an old episode of Father Ted last week--there was a scene at Funland on Craggy Island where the attraction was Freak Pointing--two guys repeatedly pointing at a third in a chair. That's a bit what this feels like, only with better technology. ;)

These guys aren't real, right?

Maybe if you play it backwards it's the Democrat's Propaganda. :)

Aha, I knew if I looked hard enough I'd find someone else who hates it as much as I do.

In this instance New Burmesia, it's the message - not quite so much the medium - that gets under my skin.

I love their song, "Bush was right", for the irony more than anything.
Obviously written a couple of years ago.

Listening to their music made me aware that there are musicians out there worse than Blink 182. That thought alone made me feel rather dirty.

Maybe I'm just totally insensitive, but this hardly seems like something to get pissed about.

It's unintentional irony, certainly, but it does give one a chuckle.

And your comment about Blink 182 reminds me of this time in grad school when I was a deejay at a radio station. A local band had been beggng for airplay, and they'd done us a favor, so we added them, but the sticker on the outside of the cd said "You can play them, but they're bad. 7 Mary 3 bad."

Haha! Now this is some band, combining my two least favorite things.
