Just to let you guys know, on Wednesday at 10pm EST (instead of the usual 9pm EST) the MythBusters will have their holiday special!

Now to make this thread actually worth posting, tell us your favorite MythBusters and Myth that they either busted, plausible, or confirmed.

Adam Savage would have to be my favorite.

Favorite Myth, hmm, that's a hard one, they did so many good ones and blew up so many things! :D

I think my fav has to be the on where they blow up that cement mixer truck :p , they try some smaller charges to get rid of hardened cement inside it, but got ticked off and put a massive on in. Blew its off its wheels :p

That one was awesome, one person on the Mythbusters forum ask how they get the FBI, police, and other government agency to go along with this. Well the FBI, Police, etc, actually get valuable training information from these test. They now know how much explosive a terrorist might use to blow up a truck! :D

did you see the Jail house archer one? where they had to build a crossbow made out of items found in prision, and it has to be capable of penetrating or killing a man.

they had to build those suckers so large that prisioners would think they couldn't hide them from the guards. :rolleyes:

Mythbusters is awesome. I can remember hearing about it on forums and thinking "Pssh, that stuff is crap" and then when I finally caught an episode--last half of "Confederate Rocket" I was like: woah. That was awesome.

I like Adam and Jamie both. I'll admit to a certain amount of cheering for Adam whenever they compete though.

As for the other three...Grant is awesome jawsome. And Kari...woah, don't even START me on Kari...

I like the cement truck episode. It was there, then it wasnt.

The episode of the Immigrant catapult was nice too

Salami rocket revist was far more illuminating. That rocket launch we saw was just the nitrous oxide escaping. Through use of a force meter, Jamie and Adam showed that a salami rocket, when actually ignited--which it hadn't been before--can do a damned sight more than 20 feet.

well, at leas they are not doing it before the 5th of december. anyone who puts christmas speceials on earlier then that should be considered a criminal.

I liked the falling elevator myth, simply because of the noise it made when it hit the bottom, and nearly blew Jamie's beret off.

well, they already are refusing to pay their workers minimum wage or higher, so this would just add to the list.

I liked the "cell phone messing with avionics", the "woman stuck to toilet in airplane", the "coke and diet mentos" and the related "coke and pop rocks" and most of all, the one blowing all the Mission Impossible "getting around IR and laser alarms" movies out of the water.

Oh, did I mention I like Mythbusters? ;)

My fave was when Jamie shaved off all his body hair, painted himself golden from top to toe and walked on the treadmill. Hilarious, and also strangely arousing.

Strangely enough, the paramedics on hand pulled the plug because bad things WERE happening to his core temperature and heart rate.

I'm of the opinion that Jamie was just freaking out and being a wuss. They should revisit it.

Will they fire those extra people for it? Sure they help, but its not the same...

I love the show so it's hard to pick a favorite. The cement mixer thing and the coke and mentos/pop rocks were both pretty cool though. I agree about Kari being hot. Scottie was hotter though. :D
