Beck - Elevator Music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-QHWXFJTek&mode=related&search=)

Outwork - Elektro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHIW4DwLvQk&mode=related&search=)

Definitely Reggae.

Check out Bob Marley. It's got some nice beats, easy to listen to, motivational to work to, and nice to tune out or tune in depending upon your mood.

It's also got some great messages, most notably, Don't Worry (be happy!), and One Love.

The only thing that might be off-putting is his (Marley's) references to his Rastafarian beliefs; but I rather like this insight into the musician's belief system, and the way he puts his beliefs into action. Besides, most of the things he puts in pertaining to Rastas is just about getting along with other people.

Check out Redemption Song if you get a chance. That's my favorite. :D

I suggest the band Black Lab (http://blacklabworld.com/blw/index.html). It's a rock band, and a rather good one at that. I have all of their cds and I just can't stop listening to them. :D

Be sure to download one of their best songs, Wash It Away (http://blacklabworld.com/blw/pages/01a_ybam.html) (scroll down till you see it). More free music if you check out the other cds too. :)

A lot of the bands i'd like to share aren't wealthy or famous enough to have video clips....so i dug up what I could...most live clips have sound that isn't so crash hot, but hey :p Most of it's heavier stuff...I guess i'll post some better "easy listening" stuff later.

Dresden Dolls.

The lyrics range from incredibly sad ("First Orgasm") to very funny ("Mandy goes to Med School") and sorta angry ("Girl Anachronism").

The piano is still the best instrument devised by humanity, and the band shows that all you really need is a few drums and a piano and a microphone.

They're also a very inclusive band. At live shows they invite random street performers to come to the show and do their stuff there, they get people to dress up and it's just generally a lot more fun and not at all conformist, like many other bands, which generally have one accepted image of what a fan has to look like.

As usual, the Smiths. My favourites are ones you shouldn't listen to unless you're a fan, but to get into it, try "How Soon is Now?", "William, it Was Really Nothing," "The Queen is Dead," and, perhaps, "Ask." Those were the ones that convinced me.

I have a special face just for Wagner. My singing teacher was looking through her books of music, found some Wagner, and said, "I don't think you're ready for this quite yes." I agreed, made a face, and now tell Wagnerian jokes constantly, to people who have no idea what I mean.

Or possibly its the theme song of that Harry Potter theme, "lala"-ing doesn't translate really well over a written medium.

Dropkick were a brilliant punk group from Australia in the late 90's, though they apparently only ever released about five songs ("Four Dead Cheerleaders", "Friendly Fire", "Black and Burned", "No Time to be Young", "I've Been Sick") before being devoured by angry koala bears. Due to obscurity, their work tends to be misattributed to either Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys, and never made it on to youtube.
