Things to give you nightmares....

I'm sure that quite a few here have heard of the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hieronymus_Bosch).

If not here is a refresher of his work...

Now...when I was a kid I saw some of these paintings and let me tell you...I had nightmares for weeks.

Now I find that some bright spark has made miniatures of the most bizarre and scary creatures ever to have come from the mind of man....

Yeah, Bosch's images of hell are pretty creepy.

If you don't like creepy paintings, then avoid Goya's black paintings. Particularly the one of Saturn...ugh.

*shrugs*

I'm completely desensitised. I've been watching horror films since birth, practically. I honestly can't think of a horror film that's scared me, never mind a painting.

There really wasn't much in the way of horror films in 1974 that an 8 year old had access to.

Well, my parents took the view that if I was old enough to ask to see it, I was old enough to see it. Thus, I was watching things like Alien, Nightmare of Elm Street and The Shining when I was five.

But it's got a point. Which is nice. You could say the same for Bosch, even if one doesn't consider the message relevant nowadays.

Indeed, I think some of my political activities (in the Pirate Party of Germany) are because this book changed my priorities and made me value freedom far more!

I had a nightmare last night. In my nightmare I was watching a movie and it starred Nicholas Cage. Horrifying.

Because I feared a religious and a atheist would start trolling and flinging excrements at each other... pre-crime, so to say!

That's nothing. I dreamed I wrote a screenplay, Keanu Reeves got the lead role, and changed every line of dialogue to include "Woah."

I had a nightmare about snakes last night, which is really odd, because in real life, snakes don't scare me at all.

what gives me nightmares? LIFE.

I woke up, got dressed and ready for work, I went to my office, sat down and typed away... then my alarm rang, waking me up to get ready to go to work...

If you can avoid the dead babies and machine/human porn, Giger has some really good stuff. Homage a Bocklin comes to mind. Tentacle Hentai has nothing on Giger for fucked upness, however. *nods*
