What do we agnostics get?

I wanna have a symbol I can wear around my neck and show my beliefs...hmpf.

No this isn't spam, I'm seriously asking this. Do we get anything...?

Well, as an agnostic I can say that I have made up my mind. I don't think it's possible to truly know whether God exists or not. What's so pathetic about agnostics?

Some suggestions:
- scales to symbolise impartiality, balance and the weighing of evidence.
- a small black box, to symbolise you believe you will never know.
- a closed book ;)

Ahh but it does work both ways. When the devout types start yammering on.....No it doesn't. Atheists and agnostics are those who are interested in the world and are eager to learn. Religious folks are self-satisfied and are content with their one-dimensional perspective on the world.

I'd say there are some pretty damn self-satisfied atheists out there who are smug bastards that look down on anyone who isn't one of them. And, for that matter, most religious people are just as openminded and eager to learn as any agnostic or atheist.

A lovely way of looking at it, but fairly unconvincing, considering there are some Sects within Christianity that call the Pope the Antichrist.

Then again, this dude is an agnostic, so who knows what going on in his mind?

Yeah, that's true, but at the same time it's the only way to cover all the other
Christian denominations without leaving anybody out. I doubt Jack Chick reads this message board (after all, he hasn't made a tract about it yet).

Then again, this dude is an agnostic, so who knows what going on in his mind?

Well, so am I (technically, I'm an agnostic theist, so that's a little different).

Agreed with the first part.
However, since most believers are certain they know certain answers, and cannot accept another answer without giving up or changing their Faith, saying they will probably not be looking for them is not unreasonable.

In case nobody else said, actually Catholics generally get a crucifix, NOT a cross. A cross is shaped like the thing that Jesus is said to have died on, a crucifix is similar but also has a figure of Jesus dying.

Even so, I've seen a lot of people who are Christian or Muslim or whatever who are perfectly willing to learn about others' beliefs without going in to the "fire and brimstone" type stuff.

While the question mark certainly gets the job done, I would hate to see it degenerate into clothing under which everyone suddenly gets to look like the riddler.. Maybe something more along the lines of the box thats in the other box with lines connecting the corners that you cant tell if it comes towards you or goes away from you. A simple something you could wear that wouldn't make the person appear clueless (thanks to so much comic influenza).
