Democratic WWII Germany

The year is 1933. Influential and powerful German militarists and other prominent leaders decide to execute Hitler and his nitwit friends. Germany becomes truly Nationalist. No persecution of Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, you name it. Everyone, regardless of ethnic background or religious background inside Germany is considered German. Germany becomes strong and starts to democratize. Austria remains independent, Sudetenland and Danzig are no longer claimed.

Yet, the biggest threat for Europe, Communism, did not disappear. The Soviet Union is still seeking to expand a dangerous and inhumane ideology. It threatens the Baltic states and Finland (like they´ve done in real life). The Soviets attack Finland, the start of the winter war. Germany decides to side with Finland against the Soviets.

Imagine. A strong, democratic WWII Germany helping (like they did in reality but then the country was oppressed by total assholes like himmler and such) the poor Finns in their struggle against the barbarian red hordes.

Would you´ve supported a war against Communism if the identity fighting it was not Nazist but democratic...

You see, the point of counter/alternate-history is that it has to be realistic. This, is not, and is in fact rubbish.

No, Germany would not have been irredentist. No claims to Poland. Just support for Finland. Which was invaded in real life too.

If it was all about Finland, it would be fairly unlikely that the war would even have anything to do with Communism anyway.

poland would have been invaded by russia anyway but not then... they had bigger issues with japan:headbang:

britain would have fought with germany, but france most likely not, but the germans would have kept the polish corridor and danzig anyways after liberating the russian occupied poland. as for finland? they embarassed the red army by themselves in real life, no need to mention what would have happened with german support.

but enough with nice democratic scenarios... Hitler could only have been dead if the KPD (kommunistische partei deutschlands), the second largest party in germany got in power which would mean france and spain go the same way which would mean that by now everyone would be communist... probably even in america since the rest of the communist world could very easily blockade it into submission.:)
