Anyone here got an advent calendar this year?

I think they are a great way to cheer up dreary December mornings.

So what did people find behind door number one? I've got a Turkish Delight chocolate and a picture of Santa.

Daily updates!

Well, my advent calendar has chocolates, so today I got a chocolate. I'm guessing tomorrow I'm getting a chocolate. And every other day in December.

Although today my chocolate was in the shape of a holly leaf. :D

An unnecessary tradition, bit like crackers and christmas trees.

I still think there should be a small explosive charge with a timer that launches the chocolate out each day.

That would certainly be festive, and a nice lead in for the New Year's celebration.

It would also keep people from cheating.

Why would you need a calendar to get chocolate?

Mine's a Cadbury's one. And each chocolate is like a different variety of Cadbury's chocolate, hence today's Turkish Delight.

But, yay! Go advent calenders. Love the chocolatey ones! They've erased all my bad memories of advent calendars.

Of course chocolate goes off. I've had bad chocolate... It goes paler and flakey. It's not nice at all. :(

They also make Lindt chocolate advent calendars, but they're expensive

Anyhow, I have a chocolate one myself. I don't even enjoy chocolate, but it's tradition! It's always been tradition. I open it each morning, and then give it away. :)
