I find that it's often the rich who are well travelled. I know a girl my age who's been to most European countries simply because she's been on foreign holidays twice a year since she was a toddler. I didn't have a foreign holiday until I was 13, and that was in some silly resort in the Canary Islands. My list is very small.

I'm jealous. :(Woohoo... I mean most people don't normally have never heard of Uzbekistan, let alone jealous that I've been there. But yeah the country is fantastic. I always find it odd that I had the best time of my life in an oppresive police state. We had to register not only when we moved from city to city, but whenever we stayed at a different address. I still have all the registration papers in my passport.

As always the British Embassy is useless and I wasn't able to vote in the 2005 general election.

I lived in Soo, Michigan for a year. Terrible town, but Soo, Canada isn't too bad. Although the mall sucks terribly.

I was on a 32-day road trip driving around the US and I had made it to Soo, Michigan, passing through on to Mackinaw City. I ended up crossing the bridge into Canada just to say I'd been there. Went to a casino and dropped a few bucks, then went back. Didn't get much of a feel for the Canadian side otherwise, but I did enjoy watching the ships go through the locks on the Michigan side. I also remember there was a restaurant on the Michigan side where the whitefish was to die for :D
