Please make sure there's a non-Christian option.

And prepare for an interesting "debate".

I'm a practicing Catholic, if you must know.

I doubt I'll ever get the chance though.

I screwed up. Wasn't able to make a poll and If I could have, yes I would of had an option for Athiest and Non-christian and other. I tried to edit to see if I could still make a poll and couldn't find it so then I tried to delete the whole topic and was unable to. Sorry.

Thank you. I wasn't aware till now. The distinction would have been if I had a poll which I intended to have but screwed it up.

It would be okay if a MOD would move mine in with the other.

What denomination?
I believe that "denominations" in christianity weakens the bond that should hold us together, Jesus. I wouldnt say I am part of a denomination for this reason.

Not necessary. I with the help of Kanabia, figured out how to make a poll so there would be a difference, even though it was unintentional to create a similar topic. Thanks anyway.

Answered as 'other non-christian', It was between that and atheist and since just recently I have disagreed with atheists just as much as christians, I thought I wouldn't classify myself along with them anymore.

I am an agnostic though (formerly atheist), but have some rather strange beliefs. I don't call it 'sitting on the fence' or anything, I just genuinely don't know whether God exists, and don't believe I ever will.

I'm much more open minded now than previously, and also a little confused about what to believe.

Roman Catholics are just the largest rite within the Catholic Church. There are twenty-something other rites that are Catholic as well, as I recall.

My beliefs are those of my interpretation of Judaism. Given the numerous facets of Judaism, it is unlikely that many share my exact beliefs. The belief that the Torah is the word of G-d Himself is shared by most Orthodox Jews. My opinions on the literacy of certain parts of the Torah - such as the Flood - are not defined yet.

Do I agree with all Jewish teachings? Of course not - that is not possible. Many rabbinic authorities strongly disagree with each other - read some rabbinical writings, and see for yourself. Furthermore, there are some aspects of Judaism I do not like, including some commandments from G-d Himself. However, as I like to say, He is infinitely smarter than I am, so I will defer to His divine intellect.

As for details, it is easier to answer specific questions, rather than try to explain all my beliefs.

I'd read some of your posts before. That explains some things.

I think it's kind of funny that people can debate to what religion someone identifies, though. :)

Personally, I've been nondenominational, presbyterian, methodist, baptist, and semi-catholic (which is what most Catholics are, in my opinion). It's a fun tour of doctrine.

That would be doctrine, my friend. By the way, the first christian church split had to do with using levened or unlevened bread for communion. I personally prefer Mrs. Baird's iron enriched bread.;)

Episcopalion, myself.

The differences between denominations run a bit deeper than "we sing loud, we sing quietly."

Go to a Catholic or an Anglican ceremony and compare it to a Baptist. You'll see that Catholics and Anglican's like using prayer books while Baptists and others prefer to create their own prayers.

Personally, I think the splits within Christianity are brilliant. It allows people to find their own place within the church. Ultimately, the only thing that matters is believing Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. In this way, people can practice how they believe is proper but still get the important message behind the entire thing.

i'm an atheist in the strictest sense of the term - i am without god, in that the God of all various religious texts do not exist.

the possibility that there is something "else" beyond the physical realm makes arouses mild curiosity in me- after all there are many physical phenomena we can not see why should something on an emotional plain be any different.

my personal definition of what makes a Christian is one who is non-denominational and strips out the superfluous nonsense and focuses purely on the words and deeds of Jesus Christ. A man who had a lot of good ideas for being a nice Jewish boy from a bad neighbourhood.

i also believe that jesus would if he had lived today been a socialist - or atleast endorsed communalism of a sort. any sort of communalism being despised by his biggest fans nowadays in Conservative America (where he is on their side, and not vice versa)

if i was forced at gunpoint to accept that god exists (which they don't) i would probbaly be CofE, its laid back and you get all the cups of tea and scones you like - and cricket, and village greens, and edward elgar.

I agree with the last two posts very much so. w00t uber pastafarian!

I am also athiest, and I don't understand how anyone could even possibly begin to imagine there was some divine mystical spirit floating around in an indescribable place who created the universe and defies all the laws that he supposedly created, or anyone of the nonsense people tell me to believe.

I have respect for almost all religions, although many of them seem not to teach the morals they would've originally taught, and like W I believe Jesus would have been more of a socialist.

As was handily pointed out those aren't all christians religions :p but I'll let it fly because you explained you had technical problems... :s :o
