Mitch Hedburg.......he wasn't around long enough sadly.

I also recently remembered JTO and Bobby Duck, he had a small duck puppet (named Bobby) and he was hilarious, sadly he died too. :(

I lost my copy of him on An Evening at the Improv from the 80's and I can't seem to find any of his material anywhere.

As long as you can make me laugh my ass off then you're awesome.
However, if I had to choose: Russell Peters, and Margaret Cho.

Ten choices aren't enough for a decent poll. Hell, I don't even kow if I can narrow it down to ten favorites! My top ten undergoes constant revision.

But I relate most to George Carlin. He has such a pleasant duality about him. So witty, and yet so crude. I love it. :)

"Some nights, the wolves are silent and only the moon howls" -George Carlin

"Fuck Soccer Moms!" -George Carlin.

See? :)

Why the Fuck are Jeff Foxworthy and "Larry The Cableguy" on this list, yet Lewis Black is nowhere to be found?

Seriously, I have a big fucking problem with that. "Blue Collar Comedy" is the most atrocious, idiotic, shit-ridden excuse for "comedy" that I've ever had the displeasure of viewing. I honestly wouldn't give a shit if those two frauds died from asphyxiation.

That's what's so great about Lewis. He's bitter, ironic, and angry. He executes his material flawlessly. Not only are his jokes laugh-out-loud, shit-in-your-pants funny, he's very entertaining to watch.

Not always. Often, but not always. :p

I loved his latest routine, "Life is Worth Losing", but I prefer the cd. His HBO performance(which the cd was made from), he looked sick. Which he was. I found it distracting. His voice alone is much more entertaining. *nod*

Allow me to explain how our federal government works. To begin with, by the federal government I mean Democrats and Republicans working together. And the only thing dumber than a Democrat or a Republican is when those pricks work together. You see, in our two-party system, the Democrats are the party of no ideas and the Republicans are the party of bad ideas. It usually goes something like this. A Republican will stand up in Congress and say, "I've got a really bad idea." And a Democrat will immediately jump to his feet and declare, "And I can make it shittier."

Can't really think of an all-time favorite comedian. I think highly of Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks. And Black is great, but he is just one of many who are following in Mark Twain's path.

Robin Williams and Eddie Izzard are both highly successful at consistently amusing me. I'm sure I could think of a few other names to put alongside those, but I'm sleepy.

As for some of the people on this poll - I have a friend who absolutely adore the Blue Collar folks, and who made me sit through a several-hour-long program of theirs a while back. I think it was only three hours long, but I swear it felt like several years, most of which I spent thinking, "...well, I guess that was supposed to be funny, since the audience is laughing. Huh."
