I eagerly await the establishment of a parallel Legislative Assembly for Northern Ireland (which will, of course, instantly be suspended).

I am the Ard Re.

ard rí.
the rules of the ard rí is that you have to be in ireland to claim it. your claim can be challanged via a fight to the death. i didnt make that up. i was planning to try an actually claim it but the fight to the death bit puts me off.
but we havent had an ard rí for a very long time.

Well, to be fair, if we're going to be correct, the Dáil is the lower house of the Irish parliament, not the Irish government. All the positions you've mentioned are from the government, not the Dáil.

i dont count the president as an important person.

Why? No president: no taoiseach.

for those positions one has to be in the dáil.

Maybe so, but they aren't positions in the Dáil, they're positions in the government.

Yea, but again....the President isn't part of the Dáil.

fine you can be president.
i know officially there cannot be a taoiseacht without the president but its just a cerimonial thing. the last time the president tried to force her official power on the rest of the gov, they threatened to relieve her. she really doesnt have any power.

Yea, but again....the President isn't part of the Dáil.

So we get a Dáil, but no mechanism for appointing people to actual governmental positions? You know, this is starting to remind me of real Irish politics.

i wasnt going to be too picky. other parallel parliment threads had non parliment positions up.

I don't want the role of president. I just want our 26 counties back.

That's because the other threads weren't doing parallel parliaments (or, in this case, parallel lower houses of parliament), they were doing parallel governments.

i dont count the president as an important person.

If only they'd got that concept past Robinsons ego, so much would have gone far more smoothly.....

Then I must offer the formal challenge "You will in your arse."
