What the title said. I know a hot girl and I wanna ask her out. We're both 13 and we go to the same school. We are in different groups as well. I figure you guys could help me decide. So help me if you can, and all you who do get fluffles if you're female. Everybody else gets cookies. (Poll coming, if somebody can tell me how to make one.)

So help me if you can, and all you who do get fluffles if you're female. Everybody else gets cookies. (Poll coming, if somebody can tell me how to make one.)

Cliques aren't cool. If you're talking about groups, that's okay, but no cliques. There are many differences, friend.

But I say go for it. The worst she can do is say no, giggle, and treat you like an icky sea slug.

Alright, to help, I need to first explain social groups.

First, there is the "Popular" crowd, Abercrombie and Fitch wearing, high maintenance type. These are characterized by wearing Abercrombie and Fitch attire, American Eagle, nice polos of all colors, gelled hair, OR baby-t's, short skirts, lots of make up etc. Generally, their "friends" will talk endless with each other over how "uncool" others are, and in the same breath stab that person in the back, and talk behind the other persons back. Conversation is only seen as how things affect their life, and thus is devoid of any greater meaning.

Second-Jocks. Into sports, very similar to Populars, but different in that Populars often do not participate in sports, as it would mean dirtying themselves. Characterized by similar, albiet more dull, speak as to that of the Populars, often along the lines of "How we won that game!", "How we will win that game!" "The other team are pussys!", "That is so gay!", or "Man, were you at that party?!"

Third-Normals, average in everyway whatsoever, tend to do well, but not to well, in school, care somewhat about the world around them more than how it affects themselves, but not to greatly.

Politiks-Care greatly about the political surroundings of the Nation, talk excessively about politics and similar topics. Wear very nice clothes, well dressed, well groomed. Often believe they are "better" than others.

Stoner-The name says it all. Wears worn out clothes, doesn't care about appearance, talks about weed and other drugs most of the time. Most of the time, they can be found in the basement, getting high.

Nerd- Highly knowledgeably in academic fields, does homework on saturdays and other similar activities. Spends freetime going over technical knowledge.

Geek-Similar to nerd, except in the fact that one spends most of the time playing video games, Dungeons and Dragons(Or similar games), or Magic the Gathering(Or similar games). Talks about said activities most of the time, and has dire hatred for top of pyramid.

Goth-Believes that conformity is bad, and believes themselves to be nonconformist. However, it must be noted that they themselves are conforming to what they considering as being nonconformist.

Emo-The bottom. Believe everybody hates them, the world hates them, they are worthless, and that they are smarter, and better, than everyone else for realizing this. Also, they believe that the smallest little problem is much larger than it really is, and threatens to kill themselves repeatedly. However, it must be noted that they, infact, will not do so, as they only care about attention they receive from it, and how they can call everyone else "Chavs".

Alright, so the Pyramid goes thusly:

1.Populars
2.Jocks
3.Normals
4.Politiks
5.Stoners
6.Nerd
7.Geek
8.Goth
9.Emo

Now to explain the system. Now, in order to have a decent chance when asking another out, it goes one way or the other. A Jock can ask out a Popular or a Normal, and have a decent chance of Acceptance, due to closeness of relation. They have a Chance with asking out a Nerd, however not as much so with a Normal or Popular. Also, it is unlikely a Jock will ask out a Nerd, as it would greatly affect his/her social standing, and knock them down a rank. There is almost no chance of a Jock being accepted by either a Goth or an Emo, as he/she represents almost all that they are against.

So, the question that must now be asked is what social group do you fit in, and which does she, and after figuring that, figure the odds of acceptance. If only 1-2 ranks, the chances are high, especially if you are in a group higher than she is. If 3-4, it is unlikely. Anything more, and it is nigh impossible.

In all seriousness, though, just ask her out. Don't live in regret. If she says no, you'll be humiliated for what? A few days, at most. Then, if people talk about it, they'll forget very quickly, and it will be old news. I've been turned down before, and it changes absolutely nothing, at all, as we remained friends for quite some time afterwards(And due to me going off to school, and her being a year older than I, and going off to school, our friendship has rather fallen apart over the years).

I'm not even going to go into how much highschool relationships are pointless, as it would be very depressing, and wouldn't really help.

This guy is in middle school. Here's how it works:

1) Populars: A+F, AE, like the populars in your post.
2) Jocks: Athletic Populars.
3) Normals: Hang around everyone.
4) Geeks/Nerds/Dorks: Talk about online games or politics, anything the first three couldn't care less about. Emos are in this category.

Being a loner in middle school helped me a lot. I didn't move up to 3 unti 8th grade. :(

Ah, I didn't take into consideration the middle school contract, which greatly abridges the categories.

Through out the most of school, I was in the Geek category. Moved my way up to Politik/Normal(albiet dressed and groomed like shit) hybrid, maintaining Geek tendencies. Of course, the girls I was "into" tended to be in Popular type status, and as I'm learning now some of them were quite "in to" me(GREAT to know now!). So, there are exceptions to the groups, as always there are, but it is usually how the system breaks down.

That's the way it must be at nearly all-white schools...

Here, it goes something like this:

1. Blacks
2. Spanish people/white people who could be considered Spanish
3. Wiggers who have black friends/white athletes other than hockey players
4. Stoners/punks/metalheads
5. Scumfuck kids (emos, goths and the like)

Most Asians fall outside the above list, because they're in the magnet program. Those that do fall under the category of spanish people.
Also, the blacks and the spanish people tie for top spot. Levels 3 and 4 tie for third spot. The levels are pretty much sorted by which group would win in a brawl.

Now, in this ladder, no one can date each other if from a different race and level, and this is, AFAIK, non-negotiable.

I don't watch Family Guy. It sucks.

At my high school, Blacks were either in the "Jock" group (the athletes), or the "nigga" group, for the niggs. These were the ones that didnt talk to white kids, gave you mean looks, and generally walked around with headphones on and not listening to the teacher.

The Hispanics are either in the "Hispanics" clique, or the "jock" clique, for soccer and baseball and such.

In high school, it's different. In middle school it's cliques of non-whites, in high school it becomes groups.

Well there are different groups, but they're not as any kind of hierarchy. It's not like "John Doe is in Group A, and as such is cooler/more popular than Anony Mous, who is in Group C". That and the groups are just groups of friends rather than all the "jocks" or all the stoners or whatever.

Pretty good. Well, not bad... I mean, uh *bursts into tears* :(:(:(:D

Just kidding. How's it going?

Not a thing has changed. Just existing man. Keeping my little cousins entertained through the weekened while my Aunt goes shopping has been a bit hard at times, but not too bad (My 7 year old cousin is fucking awsome dude, he knows more about football and hockey than I do!)

But yeah, nothin to complain about. Hows your buddy doin?

The side of his face is kinda bruised and he has some hemmorhaging in his eye, but he's back and has a good sense of humor about the whole thing (he said the video of him getting his ass kicked was hilarious). The kid who did it was expelled. :D

So I guess your parents will be driving you and your girlfiend to a Romantic dinner?

I never understood how dating worked without a set of wheels.

You're 13? Okaaay. Just to warn yoi that this relationship won't go far, but it'll be good from an educatuonal point of view. Ask her out; only if she isn't the type to laugh at you or to make fun of you if she refuses. If she's not horrible then you can't really lose anything out in trying, I suppose.

Thanks for the advice, man. I didn't expect to get too far anyway, but hopefully I'll get some kissing done, yeah.

I hope so. The last time I got rejected, I went suicidal, and beat my self-esteem to death with a shovel. Of course I was 10, and a stupid little shit at that.

You'll look back on your being 13 with the same kind of attitude. I assure you; I've been there. Man, was I stupid at 13...

Johnny, my man. Here's my two cents:

I never dated until my senior year. Yeah... I'm a loser, and proud of it. Anyways, there was this girl I really liked - pretty, nice, smart, the whole deal. But she was my best friend's ex. Dang...

My first girlfriend was pretty much pushed on me. A mutual friend told me this girl liked me, and asked if I liked her back, whereupon a 'kinda' was forced out of me. To cut out the boring part, it was long, messy and really depressing. The worst part was the fallout, as mutual friends all bailed on me and took her side. *sigh*

Anyways, after that I pretty much said, "Screw you all, I'm gonna do what *I* want". I asked my best friend's ex to our senior prom, and that was the best decision in my life. Just over seven months, and we're still doing great.

The moral of the story, and life lesson number one: "Go for it."

If it doesn't work out for you now, you have plenty of time.

I'm not even going to go into how much highschool relationships are pointless, as it would be very depressing, and wouldn't really help.they're 13...doesn't that make them middleschoolers?

I've seen this so many times it's not even funny. Guys decide to ask some hot chick out and they get crushed. Smashed. Shattered into a thousand tiny little pieces like a RingPop thrown on the ground. Don't do it.

Well, as there are few certainties in life. Relationships = Heartbreak, may not be one of them.
Possible though.

In my case it's a certainty. Relationships bring me nothing but heartbreak. They're more painful than having one's nails plucked out or genitals ripped off.

I voted ( a long time ago) to ask her out.

This made me think of that chic that had a big thread going here a long time ago .. I wonder if that was the same chic that went on to having that cult following/hatred at You Tube.
